I'm not buying it Dan. I am totally aware he does alot of different things for the team, similar to lowry. But you and others also posted stats in another thread showing his terrible efficiency. He has to be better, and he has played much better in the past. He has that star role on this team, and he wants it. And if he is going to fill the star role then he has to shoot better and be a better defender. He's not the only one guilty, I know, but those guys are below him in the pecking order, and his shooting and defending are key to the success of this team. He's not playing anywhere near all star level imo. And given expectations, maybe even Fred's own, I'm fine calling his overall play this season trash.

Move him off ball, and more on ball scottie. I'd rather take the lumps with scottie then watch Fred throwing bricks and overdribbling.
I think they are trying to get him off ball. Way too much passiveness from Scottie leads to so many possessions getting reset and Fred creating something late. I'd love to see more Scottie creating but he hasn't moved past his pass first instincts yet.

You can "not buy it" all you like, Fred has been very, very good. I would absolutely love for him to be more efficient but I think you totally missed the point of my posts in the other thread if what you got out of it was "Fred bad, yucky shooting."

There is a fairly major gap between "playing like an all star" and "playing like trash" and I think generally discourse would be much improved if we acknowledged that.

The next Ben Taylor reffed Raptors game will be interesting. As for backfiring in general, I don't think so. I'm sure many other players agree. Marcus Smart already gave his opinion.
Yah but players and refs both hate Marcus Smart

The gap is not that great when the team is so dependent upon him to shoot well and defend well. He needs to do those things as much as he has to do the other things in order for the team to succeed. If Fred has been very very good this season, then the bar is low imo. Either that or one might want to question the reliability of the stats that paint him a very very good player. I've always liked Fred, but he has played poorly this season, and I'm not making excuses for him.

The gap between great and trash isn't that large when it's a high volume shooter. As soon as they start shooting poorly they greatly hurt the team and become trash. That's Fred this year. His defense is bad also. There is very little great about his game.

I did, but pending physical. Sounds like he would have failed that physical.

                Chicago is kinda screwed.

This is a stretch, to say the least. Fred is an absolute liability at the point of attack now for both PG and SGs with an even half-decent first step. While his offence has come around, the other side of the ball is very problematic.

                        100%

positive territory for shots taken lately, BUT still mediocre in totality this season….. but his sub-par defensive play drags everything down.

in a nutshell thats the best way to describe the 29 year old midget
