But what I'm saying is this draft is different. We can have a late first rounder this year and we will have a better group of guys to select from then in most drafts. I'm all for moving draft picks if it helps the team, but this draft has the potential to be a gam changer for many teams. Go look up some mock drafts and see who we could be drafting. We could move up and get a guy like hartenstein who has star potential at a position of need. And if we make a trade for someone like Ibaka, we will need more cheap contract guys who can contribute or we will be very thin.

Every year I've been hopeful in seeing the best possible scenario for players. The thing is, this is the reality:

    • If we get Ibaka for flipping our first rounder and Cory + Sully, I'm totally okay with that.

Yeah... unless this is just the beginning of moves to be made?

Honestly, I don't trust anything that is out there media-wise about the Raptors. They keep their operation so secretive, a lot of it is just hear say. I mean if Woj can leak every pick with the exception of the Raptors, you know nothing is getting leaked.

Now that the Jusuf Nurkic trade we've been anticipating for weeks has materialized at last, league sources say Danilo Gallinari is a prime Nugget to watch between now and the deadline. The Raptors and Clippers are among the teams said to be monitoring Gallinari's availability, amid a growing belief that Denver is prepared to move him, given that the Nuggets anticipate that Gallinari will bypass the final season of his current contract (valued at $16.1 million) and join Millsap on the open market and don't plan to spend big to retain the Italian.

Add Poeltl to the deal or walk away.

Posters who keep throwing in our 1st rounders clearly aren't paying attention to this draft closely. If there were 20 other teams that could gladly trump that I'm sure ORL would already have a deal done. The Magic aren't going to get anywhere near what they "paid" for Ibaka and the rest of the league knows that so they are going to get pennies on the dollar. Just letting him walk would be the dumbest thing they could possibly do and it would be a total embarrassment.

Getting a back up PG and young prospect in Poeltl is more than enough imo.

Remember Jeff Teague was an all-star and all ATL got out of it was a #12 pick (Prince) so actually less despite the fact Teague had actually become an all-star, is younger (Ibaka is not 27, total bs) and had a full year to get him to buy in. There aren't teams rushing to give offers because it's clear to everyone Ibaka is in decline and will be expecting a HUGE pay day. There won't be a long list of suitors and those who do want him probably don't want to give up much (a la Melo) as he isn't a superstar or even close to it.
We're not talking about giving up a lottery pick here - A pick in the low 20's has a higher chance of being a complete bust than it does having an impact on your team. If you really think Orlando will give up Ibaka for a couple players that they don't really need then I really disagree.

Wanted Gallo last year when we still had Biz but, not too sure now.

                    • I agree with this but scroll down:

"@Sam_Vecenie I think it's split. I think the last 10-12 1st round and all 2nd round are pretty interchangeable"

This is why I said the potential for clips to approach 18-20 makes a big difference, especially if we can package to get closer to 15. There are teams 15-18 that might deal. Otherwise, as I said, trade out in a consolidation trade.
The impact we COULD get at 15-18th for $3m is way better than ibaka at $25m per imo. There's some enticing talent there.

If Masai is saying fuck D, then he is saying fuck Casey as well. No point in having a defensive minded coach to coach a bunch of offence minded players.

Seeing that Casey's system has produced one of the best offences in history. I would have to disagree.

We always were one of the best offences in the league.. when we make 3s. We have to commit to defence tho. We're not Warriors. We don't have a lot of weapons. We must defend if we want to win in the playoffs.

the "defensive minded coach" thing is such a joke. if casey is a defensive minded coach then there are no non-defensive coaches save Mike D'antoni.
