Anything short of trading Corey + JV for Millsap in addition to re-signing those guys will have been a complete waste of time. To just re-sign them is fairly meaningless.

Cousins, Paul, Butler, George.
Everyone likes to brag about how Masai wins every deal... But you have to give value to get value, and a lot of opportunities are just sailing away.
Re-signing the same squad under Casey is pretty meaningless, as Naismith said.

I hate defending Ainge but why would you use a top pick on a one year rental. That pick could end up being mega star by the time Bron starts his decline. Ainge is playing it safe but smart and setting Boston up for what could be long term success

grange reporting the Raps' 12:01 meeting will be with Tucker, mtgs with Lowry + Ibaka at a more reasonable time on Saturday.
I think this says MU is 100% confident Lowry + Ibaka are back. I hope going heavy into the tax for Tucker means that he's given MLSE his word that he will salary dump Carroll asap this season."We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

Yeah Paul George is a rental, OKC effectively turned Ibaka into a wasted Westbrook MVP season and a 1 year Paul George rental. Very good chance they lose both Russ and PG13 to LA in free agency."We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

Besides, the right to pay Ibaka a risky contract isn't as valuable as a yearlong rental of Paul George.
