Yeah.. however Crowder isn't that bad.. and is a lot cheaper. Is it worth getting a max player when you have a guy that's a pretty good replacement for a quarter of the price? It could be why Boston has been reluctant to make a move.
Yes it's worth it. I understand reluctance to do it for a brooklyn first, but for any other package you take it and hang up before bird changes his mind.

They're not getting Hayward. Hayward is guaranteed staying in Utah I see no reason for him to leave.

Agrred. Utah is the worst destination on the nba map, unless you're a square conservative white guy. Like haywood, john stockton or Karl malone

I wouldn't mind living in Utah, but I'm all three of those things so I guess I fit you're stereotype. Salt Lake City is awesome.

I think Ainge is pretty good at not listening to what fans want.. Celtics fans are nuts. The Hayward thing is odd.. maybe it's the fans trying to get Stevens and Hayward together again? Hayward's an okay player but is he really a difference maker in the league?

Ultimately if I was a Celtics fan I'd want PG over anyone including Butler, Hayward and Crowder despite his cost. PG is an elite two-way player.

However team payroll might be a concern for Ainge, especially when Smart, Olynyk and Bradley will all be looking for raises.
Agreed. I'm just adding rumours to the context.
I've heard some skepticism re: olynyk. Bradley will have a decent price tag and depending on how IT performs, he might be in line for the full max. If they want to sign another max like Griffin or Millsap or PG or Hayward, etc then they might have let olynyk walk. This is why I was saying that Ainge has had so many draft assets but how much have materialized? They got IT with a pick and brown has some potential. Smart has some good qualities too but beyond that guys like Rozier aren't that much above replacement with a guy like Farrell.
Gotta see what he does with the remaining nets picks. Imo he has to hit a home run (either by keeping or trading it) on one of those picks before I give him full credit as better than masai or challenging for #1 gm. Most of what I've seen is singles and stranded base runners in an inning with 6 outs for his team.
Masai may have struck out with Bruno and grounded out with Daniels but I'd say he has a single (Delon) and two doubles to score a run with yak and norm bc they have some potential to be two way starters. Or in norms case, maybe a very good 6th man. He's got one more out to take a big cut at Giles (if that's the pitch he's looking for) and maybe knock one out of the park or another single (say Evans) and maybe drive in another runner.
Watch out if Ainge hits a homer in the bottom half tho.
            Who's ready for baseball!?

Baseball is way too boring to a casual fan like me.

I've been to SLC. I like the mountains and the transit, it's very clean for an American city. It's a far cry from East st Louis. Seems like a nice place to live but the culture seems boring, comparatively speaking. That's totally a limited perspective at a glance but it stands apart from any other major US city I've been too imo. Not somewhere I'd want to go as a fun loving rookie but as a vet to raise a family then there's some incentive imo.
They love their bball tho. 18k fans at summer league, regardless of who's playing.

Agreed. Call me up in August if the Jays are having a good run. Otherwise it's summer man, too many things I'd rather be doing after sitting in the house all winter watch basketball, can't bring myself to sit through a 354,678,540 game long MLB season.

Going to the ballpark on a nice day is a good way to spend a weekend afternoon, tho.

Yep 162 games is stupid long. A single win or single loss is completely meaningless. On top of that each game is too long, spring training is too long, and pitchers on the mound take too long

It's just all too fucking long

It just seems like a really nice place to live. Not as crazy expensive as Vancouver or Toronto or New York, but still a solid metropolitan core. The weather is also pretty consistently nice there. Here on the west coast we get a lot of rain, obviously the weather here is the best in the world apart from places like Hawaii, but I do get sick of the rain.

For sure. I can get on board for a jays playoff run in October when every pitch matters, but I need more stimulation than that. That's why basketball is the best sport, someone scores every minute.

It's definitely beautiful. Im not familiar with their climate so I wikied it and doesn't sound amazing. Sounds like a better version of Toronto imo.
You think van city has better weather than NorCal? SF and Medellin are the nicest I've ever lived in personally. I've never been to Vancouver but my wife has been all those places so I will ask her too.
This is also the offseason trip planner thread, right?
