Yea let's praise them for doing their jobs.

Lowry and Demar struggled for sure, but the attention they received allowed the role players to do their thing.

Also, it helped that JV didn't have to face a real C in the first round.

lol. Yeah, we'll have to respectfully disagree on the depth thing. I've been telling people that DD was an elite scorer for 4 years now and yet he's even upped his game this season. He's still elite at 35% USG, which is mind-boggling. Taking an elite 35% USG scorer out of any lineup is like brain surgery. You'd need a Spurs/Hawks/Celtics system that regularly involves role players to have a chance to overcome that kind of loss.
The problem is that DeMar still isn't an elite enough all-around offensive player to build that kind of offence around him. To be such a high usage player, you need to be a pretty complete offensive player, which DD still is not. Even without a system that reaches Spurs/Hawks level, you could more easily manage through his absence if he was say, actually a passer/playmaker more, or a better shooter/cutter who could function for stretches off the ball with efficiency. There would be more areas where you can find overlap with the other options on the team. Instead he's a mid-range specialist who dribbles a lot and has to manufacture a lot of points through FTs...ie. the hardest areas to find overlap in (for pretty much any team in the league). When he goes down, no one knows what to do on offence because so much of what we do is built (built being a generous term for what we do offensively) around that and they struggle to replace those skills.

      • JV dominating inside, he needs to stop taking those mid range shots.

The shots he's been taking have been too far out. From 13-15 ft is fine

How do Celtic s involve role players? Thier whole offence is IT trying to get open.

At least they're trying to get him open looks. Our system is designed to get our stars contested shots and body hunt for FTs, which says a lot about how individually talented Lowry and DeRozan really are.

              • Has CoJo played today? Had the game on mute, looked like VanVleet was on. If so, is he hurt? Or are they not playing him?

I'll never understand how people can defend NBA players for missing open shot after open shot.

You see what you want to see.

JV's missed some open shots today but over his career he's been an extremely efficient offensive player.

                  • TRoss and JV stepping up. We need them to do the same in the 2nd half.

It'd be a shame if we lose vs. Brooklyn who are losers of 11 straight.

                    • You know why Kyle is team's real leader?

He makes winning plays. He's a winner.

3rd foul on Brook. And big run.

Indianna came in with a simple game plan. Were going to let the other guys beat us. Took 7 games but, the other guys did beat them.
