Well they saw that potential and need in Vasquez

wrong spanish speaking guy... they might look to get the oft mentioned to be available ricky rubio...

when middleton gets back he could take care of the 3's and ricky could do what he does best... run the offense and pass the ball...

      • Nice win on the tail end of a road trip, against a Bucks team that looked better than advertised.

DeRozan was fantastic, especially at the end. There was literally nothing the Bucks could do. Lowry was fantastic again and is returning to KLOE form. A true all star performance from our all stars in this one.

Actually, another game where everybody was at least pretty good. Nice to see all the role players and shooters rounding into form.

I liked putting JV back in late, but then they ignored him? Why not post him up against Parker? Should be automatic points. Worked out as DD and Lowry were hitting some ridiculous shots, but there was no movement in the offence and they HAD to hit those tough shots, which is not a great place to be.

Still, credit where it is due - I liked the call to get JV back in (the defensive boards were hurting us with BeBe out there late) and I also liked the call to get him out in the final minute or so - up a couple possessions with the clock running out, I'd match up defensively too.

Odd that Norm didn't get in, but Carroll and Ross were both killing it again, so... When would he even play? This is what we thought before the season - there's only enough room in the rotation as structured for one of Ross or Powell. It was only Carroll's early struggles and missed games that cleared minutes for Powell. I still think we could get away with some JV-led bench units with Powell and Ross together to rest our all stars, but probably better to experiment with that at home with a slightly easier schedule.

This is a great way to wrap up a road trip that had a rocky start. Now hopefully this home stretch gives the team some fresh legs.

The JV thing is the only reason I don't call for casey's head when he doesn't play him against smaller lineups down the stretch. We do not go to him at all in close games down the stretch and we all know this so why even bother having him in the game unless you desperately need rebounding? He'll just get torched on one end and we won't use him to punish them on the other end. We should but we don't. So when people say why not have JV in and let him punish the other team and force them to make a decision I don't get it because we all know under Casey's system and with Demar freezing JV out there is no way that's gonna happen. Hopefully one day but I won't hold my breath

I agree with this except the DeMar blame. It's clear that our team is not prioritizing low post offense, it's just the reality. Even the Bucks commentators said as much at the start of the game before things even got going.

              • It was an interesting game that I wish could have watched completely there was no quit in the bucks and the raptors excuted at key moments. The Greek freak has a amazing skillset and what a Stat line. It's obvious after deeboo's amazing scoring start that he is being gameplaned for by the defenses but contributes in other ways than ppg.

Yeah, there was a stretch there were we weren't getting good looks at all but were able to hit some tough shots. That stretch where the offence reverted to its worst form is the only real negative from this game. Solid performance across the board on both ends.

Antentokounpo is such a handful on the court. Can only dream what we'd look like if Masai had managed to land him. So fluid with the ball for his size.

                  • And how about that Terrence Ross. Dude is straight up balling. There is a fire in his eyes.

.....guess he had a rude awakening. A much needed one

On the subject of garbage time, the Hawks joined the Mavs in losing by over 25 points last night. That broke the Hawks streak of 150 regular season games in a row without getting blown out by 25+, which had been the 2nd longest such streak in the league.

We have the longest streak, with our game last night stretching it to 274 in a row.

                            • What I was really waiting to see from DD is what would happen after the hot start when teams started dialing in on him and the shot wasn't falling as much. Apparently, not a problem. 28 assists on the road trip.

Yeah... our guy seems to be pretty adaptable this year to doing what is required to win...
