It's interesting because the Spurs lesser talented twin towers (Gasol/Aldridge) has an excellent net rating of +7 when playing together. Even more impressive is that they are anchoring the #1 defense in the league in the "modern NBA". Those are 2 aging, non-stretch, below average athleticism big men who were never heralded for their defense by any stretch of the imagination. Pop is amazing.

Who? Is he left wing for the Flyers?

There seemed to a be a 50/50 split around here regarding acquiring Cousins when he was on the Kings.

On one side you had people saying Cousins was a can't miss superstar, you add him by any means neccesary, figure it out later. It was all the Kings fault they were an absolute mess and ohh the outrage when we didn't get him, that was our chance to push for a title!
On the one side (MY side ) You had people that said Cousins is a huge part of the problem, he's never gonna win as a focal point on a team, attitude problems, and throw the stats out the window, a true superstar would win 40 games in 6 chances to do it.
And of course many fell somewhere in the middle.

Well guess which side is claiming early victory?

Personally I think Cousins and Davis will cramp each other's productivity & that NOP got too weak on the perimeter in a league that desperately needs 3 pt shooting and strong perimeter play. They may recover yet if they strengthen their perimeter talent, I have no idea if they've got the resources/flexibility to do that or not. Buddy was actually part of many of their best performing lineups & 3 or 4 man units.

Interestingly, Buddy's and Tyreke's scoring now surging in Sacto, they in Sacto are outscoring Cousins in NO.

We'd be a top 3 team in the league

Well yeah if we swapped DC with Pop the Spurs would most definitely get worse than us

We went through this same exercise last year with Markieff Morris. Post-trade the anti-Morris crew said look how crappy he is, etc etc but the fact is you can't judge deals in a three week time frame. After a full training camp and time to gel he's been killing it.

Cousins and Davis are both so versatile that they'll figure it out. The bigger problem is they have no depth, they basically have three quality players and a bunch of scrubs.

Also the Ringer is garbage and O'Connor specifically is a hack.

Wizards improvement is mainly due to Scott Brooks coaching, specifically his offense, which was the #1 criticism of Randy Wittman. Really a stretch to attribute that to Markieff Morris.

I think the Raps would be in a similar situation, if not worse, trying to integrate Cousins into a Dwane Casey guard's first offense. With Cousins, I would expect to see something like the Lowry-DD-Gay abomination or worse.

If the Pels don't make the playoffs, pretty sure Alvin Gentry is gone. It might be that he's just a bad coach.
