MKG was 19 as well when he came out and he was the 2nd overall pick. Would say that he was more polished than OG at this point. MKG is a very good player. If can be that, that's great.

I was a huge mkg fan at Kentucky so I'm very familiar with him. His IQ and polish was higher than OG. Mkg was groomed into that as a top recruit. OG is more raw, with more potential bc he's even more of a freak. Both guys have had injuries so that could limit them.

you're the one that started this shitshow by trolling lewro lmao. you are just reaping what you've sown.
Wasn't trolling. He seem to put a lot of stock in players that have a very good feel for the game. Players that are good all around players. Just curious why he liked OG so much. Seeing that OG doesn't really have those traits. OG is very one dimensional right now.

When I talk about more advanced im not talking about just shooting. I'm talking about dribbling, play making and scoring. Kawhi was better at those things when he came out.

Dude, he's an mvp player! Don't dump salt all over OG from day one. It's a fucking great pick!

Lets temper our expectations here, if our 23rd pick can impact the game in the same way as MKG its a good pick.
          My point exaclty.

Shit you must have a fantastic memory if you can remember what Kawhi looked like on the Spurs during his first couple seasons without letting what he's doing now cloud your judgement.

You say you're a Kentucky fan than you must have watched og shut down Jamal. I'm a huge Jamal fan.
I'm not blind to ogs faults but you have to weigh that against his potential development trajectory which is why he has top 10 potential in a very good draft

He was a terrible at playmaking (2.2 AST/2.2 TO), and not that much better at scoring. OG is a better finisher at the rim compared to college Kawhi, not to mention San Diego State doesn't have the toughest of competitions or had the greatest of teams assembled around Kawhi.

If OG didn't injure his knee I highly doubt he would've made it past 10 picks in this draft. I don't see how folks can knock this pick, he was the best talent available at that point by far.
I'm not knocking the pick. I wanted Semi but, if not him I wanted OG if he was available. Apparently the reason he fell out of the teens was because of just how raw he is offensively right now. His medicals came back as great and him being a head of schedule.

Also Christian I feel you're getting your opinions from DX vids based on your yabusele comment. I never saw him play in France but watching him on the red claws, I'd take Bruno. He's not terrible, he's fun but taking him at 16 was worse than Bruno at 20 imo.

I'm not dumpin salt. I like the pick. I just think we should temper expectation.

I was very high on Kawhi coming out. I was willing to reach for him at our pick. We ended up picking JV. Never really got over it.

A lot of GMs/teams can't stick their necks out like masai/raps. Hammonds not on the bucks and Allen fell to the Nets. No other team would risk it.
I'd prefer that og is not in game til January and he's mostly working with stack and Bruno all yr.
Anyway, semi fell to the 30s where I think he belongs. Maybe he is great but I think he's a role player so better to go 2nd Rd. At best he's Crowder (34th pick) and that's a very good pick. I'm done talking semi tbh. I'm so happy we got OG that I don't give a shit.

You and the other guys are the ones who brought him up though lol. I'm happy with the pick too. So if OG becomes nothing more than a role player. Would picking him at 23 still be seen as a good pick? I think so.

Agreed but I think I am. I think he can be a kawhi level defender with mkg level offense as his ceiling. The extreme would be beyond that like kawhi exceeded expectations on offense imo. He could also be nothing with his injury/rawness.
I didn't watch his DX vids til after we drafted him bc I felt I knew his game enough to focus on players that I was less familiar with. I was surprised how much of it dealt with his offensive game bc I don't have much impression of his offensive other than not memorable or very limited. However, his D (which does quite translate to highlights so well) was bball porn.

Yes, bc he has potential to be more. We shouldn't game plan him around the Cavs. The outlook is that stack takes on the challenge and hangs his hat on it.
Semi might be on the Celts now so fuck him!

He's reminding me of Justise Winslow, Stanley Johnson.

On Kawhi comparisons: Spurs turned Kawhi into MVP. Could Raps do that? I doubt it. I have no trust in our developmental staff. That's why I preferred when Raps drafted polished players.
Only one thing matters: We The Champs.
