  • Not sure if it's part of the joke, but I don't think any of those are sauces

    • Despite the palpable buzz surrounding Siakam, some around the league aren’t buying that he’ll be traded. “Toronto always does the same thing,” as one NBA scout told HoopsHype at Vegas Summer League. “They dangle their guys, and then they pull them back.”

In other Raptors news, Toronto is also considering adding another point guard in free agency, league sources told HoopsHype.

Not the first time we have heard another GM say Masai/Bobby is wasting their time. I think it's become less they're afraid of being fleeced as tired of his inaction or over valuing his assets.

        • Probably not going to see any moves until after SL and possibly after the period when players from this draft class can be traded. Early August I think.

          • If no better deals are out there, then just trade Pascal for: AJ Griffin + filler + other young upside (Onyeka, Bufkin, FRPs) and call it a day. Griffin had a great rookie season for a 19-year old (won't even be 20 until August), and he fits next to Scottie (39% 3P). Potential 3-level, explosive wing scorer that every team needs.

Pascal for AJ could be our PG for SGA trade.

            • Yeah, I'd take AJ and Bufkin as a haul quite happily. For Scottie's sake, I bias playable prospects over picks. Scotty needs help and needs to congeal with a young core now, by next season he could be turning his nose up at rookies (over young 'vets') if everything breaks right here. Bufkin, as a rookie point guard, starting would be painful in the short term but forgivable (from Scottie's POV) because it fits with Scottie's timeline which is to turn the page this season.

If Griffin is on the table that's the deal I'm taking. Don't care what else comes with him. If we wanna make sure we get one really high upside piece for Pascal, Griffin is that guy. He's 19 years old and had a very productive rookie season. He fits perfectly next to Scottie.

I'm ambivalent about Bufkin. He had a rough summer league. Looks like he will need a good amount of G League development. I'd take him but also don't care if we don't get him.

I'm on the AJ Griffin band wagon. He reminds me so much of D. Wade, but can shoot as well.

Just sounds like he really wants to head into free agency with the freedom to chose the destination he plays for next.

agree griffin is the most desirable target but i don't think atlanta wants to give him up, which is maybe why there hasn't been a deal yet.

word out of atlanta around the draft was that they were exploring moving hunter in order to free up mins for griffin.

he's a great fit next to siakam for all the reasons he's a great fit next to scottie

Which means we really need to deal him now and just accept a lesser return than we'd like.

If he goes into the season with no extension there is an excellent chance he leaves for nothing next offseason.

                          • Structuring a deal around Hunter and Bufkin doesn't sound so bad either. Probably would want a pick though.

In my opinion Atlanta says no to this.

Either that, or he wants to shit on deals to keep his slim hopes alive for the Super Max. Follow the money.
