Demar has contributed substantially more to the overall success of this franchise in its brief history than T-Mac ever did. T-Mac while spectacular, was a little bitch and threw away the best chance his career would ever offer to win a championship. He could've accomplished the feat with his own cousin, no less. I loved T-Mac while he was a Rap, don't get me wrong, and marveled at his abilities. He never stuck around long enough to make an impact for us though and while he was here, by in large exhibited his talents as a tantilizing, obvious future superstar coming off the bench. I have no problem with him coming off the bench in the context of this conversation. His walking away from us at the point we were at in our building process is pretty inarguably the biggest setback this franchise has ever had. And we've had a lot of them.
DD and JV both have plenty of time to continue to prove that they belong with the starters.
And Davis is one of my all-time Raptors favourites, but at 6,9, he was in many ways, a more suitable power forward than a conventional centre. I'd happily start him at centre but Certainly I appreciate Skywalker's reasoning well enough.
Hopefully this year JV can get his shit together and be what I/some of us hope he can be.
