It seems like whenever he takes that shot he's wide open and still rims out or bricks it. Our offense will get him open shots.. that's what our new offense is designed to do. If he can't make those he shouldn't be playing.
If you read the article on the front page there are a lot of other things he does well for this team and the team needs even though he isn't shooting the ball well. So I wouldn't go as far as to say he shouldn't be playing. Shooting isn't the only part of the game. He's a very good defender and brings a lot of energy, as a coach you have to reward that in my opinion. What is that going to tell a young player if you only play him when his shot is falling, especially if you're a defensive coach. Now maybe he should play LESS minutes and for sure should be taken out if he's playing bad and really hurting us but I don't think we should just stop playing him all together.

The problem is that opposing defenses will also get him open shots (as they're designed to do).

For a guy shooting 16% from distance, his 2 attempts per game seem like overkill. Siakam should basically not attempt a 3 for the rest of the season.

I love a good ass kicking. That second quarter was rough though. Too bad CJ wasn't playing. He'd be the only guy capable of hitting a shot. Starters were just too good though.

Siakam really needs to figure it out.. he's so bad from the corner. If he can't get a corner shot going he's going to struggle. He was great early because he was hitting those shots. I doubt its a confidence thing.. the kid seem to not be faced by pressure. But if he can't get those shots going I don't care how fast he is or how good his defense is. He'll become a liability.

I liked that Casey left the bench out there in the first half to try to figure it out, even though they were getting their assess kicked (evidently their kryptonite is zone defence). It's good for their development. It also showed a lot of confidence in the starters to be able to come back in and put the game in.

He also staggered the bench transition in the 2nd half, which seemed to help. Though Brooklyn didn't throw a steady diet of zone at them again and Stauskas didn't ignite again.

True.. was thinking more of shooting form, not how they set their feet. But he's broken both ways.
FWIW..I believe that he will get better with his shot..One summer sweating it out in an LA gym with Demar will help..
He has the motor, the athletic ability and speed. Those things you can’t teach. A shooting stroke you can. He wants it and he will bust his arse to get it...

There is a better chance Pascal fixes his shot than Lonzo Ball does. That thing is a dog with fleas.

Keep your game thread streak going...Betting your good till the New Year...

not that i've studied every unconventional shooter in depth, but i don't think i've ever seen a player set up with the wrong foot forward and have a good shot.

It really is too bad his shot has been so poor, because he is pretty damn good at everything else. I hope he figures it out cause I like the idea of this guy on the team and getting minutes. Same with Wright. him and Siakim can be solid pieces going forward if they get a decent jumpshot.

Yeah his form is really ugly. Some guys can pull off a shot with an ugly form. He might need to reinvent his.

It's not a confidence thing. His form is ugly as fuck, starting with the way he plants his feet. The early success was a super small sample size of flukes basically. And teams will let him shoot that until he is a threat.

yeah his shot is fundamentally broken. it's very clear that he developed his form without any rigor / coaching, which is understandable but needs correcting asap.

Bang on. And yet the haters are just anxiously waiting on the background for something as small as a 6 point road loss on a second night of a back-to back to thrash the team, and predict the team's future for years to come based on said (one) game lol. They totally disappear and have little/nothing to say on a 33pt blowout like this, but if we drop one, no matter the circumstances, no matter against which team or by how many, they'll come out of the woodwork with the crystal ball of doom-and-gloom.

They come in impatient, reactionary and full of recency bias, but only on losses. It's refreshing to see a post like yours that puts the season in perspective for the marathon that it is, highlighting that every top team like the raps will drop unexpected ones, will go on streaks, and will deal with skids, for whatever reason. It may all change, but so far this year the league seems closer, which makes up for potential playoff surprises, which is way more fun.
Umm... not sure who these "haters" are. There were people like me who were arguing that Boston wasn't "trash", which is clearly the case. I never said they were better than us, just at our level and a threat that should be taken seriously.

Only 1 game back of Boston in the loss column.

Need to get that #1 seed.
