I think he said (as per usual), they were not in it and that that info came from the other side.
Every rumour season we're THISCLOSE to trading our big lug for even more of a lug, whether it be Drummond or Noel or Jordan etc.

Meanwhile JV keeps adding more range and more mobility while those lugs stay lugs (credit to Drummond tbf)

I wonder if JV gets a fat bonus for double doubles. Finished 21 and 9 yesterday and could buy a minute on the floor in the 4th Q

To be fair, no starter played in the 4th. Dwane isn't in the business of risking injury in game 55 for a 10th rebound

        • Winners and Losers at the NBA Trade Deadline

          Winners

ESPN... as they have a brand new set of wildly hopefull circumstances to build into something from nothing with the Cleveland Lebrons moves. Cleveland added a career 6pt and 7 reb average backup in Larry Nance and two guys that ANYONE in the league could have had for a 2nd round pick and didn't do it for a month in Clarkson and Hill. The Disney hype machine rolls on.

Lakers They got the cap space they wanted. All of it and a protected 1st draft choice to boot.

Utah They picked up a defender in Jae Crowder who wasn't playing hard for the Cavs and joins a young and hungry bunch of guys who with a steady effort can get to the playoffs. They also unloaded Rodney Hood. Yes he can score... Yes he is young. So whats behind the curtain with this guy that the Jazz wanted him out of town on the next bus.

Lebrons with an astersik Prior to the deadline that team was a DOA. They had to do something... They did. Will it be enough ?

          Losers

Atlanta They could have got picks .. maybe 2nds.. but picks for guys like Bazemore and Belenelli and helped themselves to be the best drain circler in the NBA... but they didn't pull the trigger.

Memphis Really... I mean you sat out Evans in order to bubble wrap him from injury and you still werenm't able to move him for anything....

Chowderheads They signed Monroe.. but from the way they were chattering on you would think it was Earl the Pearl Monroe and not the slow non defending below average big Greg Monroe they actually did ink. Its been a hell of a first half run but you can see Tatum is tiring and now that teams throw an actual defender on him..he is struggling to score. Bostons offence is Kyrie please score and while Irving has been brilliant e too is tiring and when you get tired you get hurt... Boston needs more than they have right now to contend for the Eastern title.

Detroit They bet it all on Griffin. Its a huge bet in that they have close to 70-80M tied up in two guys in Blake and Drummond. They started out well ... but have lost the last 2...

Excremento Kings Just when you think they have turned a corner they morph to the Kings of Comedy by doing things like outright releasing a lottery pick for nuthin. They keep 40 year old Vince Carter and trade 31 year old George Hill for a still injured Iman Shumpert.

Portland Trailblazers A perennial treadmill team the Blazers traded Noah Vonleh for cap relief. So in a look back they traded Nic Batum for cap relief. Yeesh.

Orlando Magic Traded Dario Saric to the Sixers for the rights to Elfrid Payton and then traded Payton for a high second round pick. Shrewd.

Wizards They continue with the thinnest bench in the NBA.

There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.
