RAPTORS 100 KNICKS 108
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored a career-high 38 points, including 12 during a 28-0 run in the third quarter that sent the New York Knicks to a 108-100 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Kristaps Porzingis added 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks, who outscored the Raptors 41-10 in the decisive period. Kyle Lowry scored 25 points and DeMar DeRozan had 18 for the Raptors, who had their four-game winning streak snapped. The Raptors shot 0 for 13 from the field during that stretch, which began with Enes Kanter's layup with 10:28 left and didn't end until CJ Miles hit a 3-pointer with 2:23 remaining. DeMar DeRozan completely disappeared in the second half. It was rather inexplicable and one of the many reasons the Raptors struggled mightily in the third quarter.
That third quarter was something else, man. Toronto was outscored 41-10, and at one point allowed a 28-0 scoring run. It’s one thing if that sort of lapse happens against an offensive juggernaut like the Rockets or Warriors…but the Knicks? It was a shocking quarter, to say the least, and likely the worst one the team will suffer through all season. On the other hand, Fred VanVleet showed he’s more than capable of filling Delon Wright’s shoes as the team’s backup point guard.
Keys To The Game:
1) Keep hitting those 3s.
2) Rack up those assists, play as a team.
3) Rebound like your life depends on it.
4) Score more points than the opposing team.
Let's Go Raptors!!!
