Lol. Are you implying that his false goatee slid off Just in time for the press conference? Or that the dimple is an implant?

There are not enough prequel memes in the forum. I truly believe that prequel memes are the highest quality meme on the internet. You could just paste the script of Attack of the Clones and it would be a better meme than half of the gifs and pictures here.

I don't think you really look to trade JV unless you're blown away by a deal. I wasn't too impressed with Poeltl's development. He is a good, mobile defender at C and strong offensive rebounder, but he is sorely lacking in other areas (defensive rebounding and offensive versatility being big concerns) and still just way too soft.
Poeltl is twenty-two. In developing-big terms, he is still basically a toddler. It's way too early to make judgements about what he'll end up being.

                      • Also, in terms of Memphis and the #4 with Chandler Parsons - Parsons and Wayne Selden and the #4 (and probably at least one more pick, a decent second-rounder or something) for Ibaka and Powell works, money-wise, and is fair value for both teams if the Raps can snag Doncic or Triple-J with the pick. Memphis turns Parsons into a player who can still actually go when he wants to, and gets Powell as a potentially useful wing. Toronto gets the #4 at probably the cheapest possible price, and if they get playable games out of Parsons that's just sort of a bonus really. (The Raps' training/physio staff are possibly the best in the league, but come on, it's Chandler Parsons.)

Obviously this deal is better for Toronto than it is for Memphis, but if Memphis were smart they'd take the risk and start the tank now. But they're going to compete to the bitter end, so we might as well benefit from their awful GM.

It's rare for a big to go from soft to tough. That is a massive issue for a big man. Especially when it affects your defensive rebounding and ability to fight down low on both ends. And he showed no really growth in his O. I would sum up his sophomore season as he got better at using the tools he already had when drafted, but didn't show noticeable growth in his weaker areas.

It's never too early to speculate on a player's potential because you also have to speculate on their value and how you can maximize it. I can see Poeltl getting better, but I have a hard time picturing him really addressing his weaknesses.

Why in the world would Memphis want Ibaka and Powell if they're trying to compete? Ibaka is physically broken and last year Powell was mentally broken. That's a pretty awful offer. Trade a top 5 pick, the range most stars are found in, for a broken down former borderline all star, and a guy who likely has no chance at becoming one.

It's probably DeMar or nothing if the Raps are after the pick. And if you think their GM is stupid, it might still be our best option. By giving them DeMar and taking back Parsons' awful deal, you may actually be able to convince them to add more and squeeze another asset out of them.

                            • Lot of moving parts here but If the Griz want to get rid of Parson and Denver wants to get rid of Faried:

                              http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9pvusxo

Basically to Toronto : #4 pick, Jamal Murray, Trey Lyles, Faried, Parsons

To Memphis: Miles, Herangomez (from Denver), MBealsey (from Denver), M. Richardson (from Toronto), McKinnie (from Toronto)

                              To Denver: DeMar DeRozan

Why for each team: The Griz want to get out from underneath Parsons contract, they get half the money coming back in the trade but easily moveable contracts. They give up the 4th pick as reported.

Denver gets an established All-star to go along with Milsap, Jokic, and Harris, plus they get rid of Farieds contract and keep their draft pick. Originally reports indicate that 14th and Faried is up for grabs. Getting a 4 time Allstar with good young pieces plus a shitty contract isn't unheard of.

Toronto gets Jamal Murray, Trey Lyles to add to their young core, plus the 4th pick in the draft. Parsons and Faried would be filler for a couple years but there's a lot of young talent on cheap contracts to develop in that time. Jamal Murray, VV, Wright back court makes Kyle expendable or you can try to run with a 2 point guard line up like we have in the past.

Love was a great player but concussions have really dropped his play. In fact, I'd be worried for his health, he should consider retiring, concussions are no joke.
Good point but Love will still be in demand. He's still a young-ish (29 years old) all-star caliber PF with a ring. Other than a wing, Memphis could also upgrade their PF. And Cleveland was hunting hard for a pick from the Irving deal. The #4 pick is even better than their #8 pick.
