That was true for the younger Kawhi Leonard. Now hes a great offensive player

Celtics probably have the best package for Kawhi: Kyrie, Jaylen Brown + picks. Kyrie for Kawhi is good swap for Boston because Kyrie is in the exact same contract situation (expiring next year). Rozier replaces Kyrie as the starting PG. Basically you add Kawhi & Hayward to a team that almost made the ECF. That's pretty much a guaranteed finals team next year and a legit contender to win it all.

If Boston decided they really wanted Kawhi, no one can touch what they can offer.

That said, just because they have the ability to offer the best package doesn't automatically mean they'll outbid everyone. Tatum is more than likely off the table to start. So how much is Boston willing to take out of a team that they think can win multiple championships if they just hold the fort? Things fall apart on teams and if you can move your window up and create a championship contender immediately that's always tempting, but you're definitely introducing risk to put that package for Kawhi together.

Compare that to the Raptors, who have nothing to lose - they're not going anywhere important now most likely. Let's say they give up 2-3 of their best young players plus Derozan for Kawhi, then the worst case scenario happens and Kawhi leaves. Now, they can trade Lowry and Ibaka as expirings and start a true tanking rebuild where they actually aren't good enough to end up with mid-30s wins and a mid to low lottery pick, which would be their situation if they tank now. If Kawhi does stay, you have that window extended to compete for championships.

The Raptors should be more in this sweepstakes than they're being given credit for. That said, maybe Masai is just so sure Kawhi won't resign that it's just not worth it.

Kawhi is basically what would happen if you molded prime derozan and prime OG into one player. Hes very very good

Well if Kawhi gets traded and it isn't to the Raptors I hope its to a team out West. Wouldn't want to play against him 4 times every year.. and possibly in a 7 game series. He's Paul George on steroids.

That would be crazy.. all three guys however basically play the same position. They would need a decent rim protector / rebounder. Lakers have Randle but he's an RFA and a guy they may have to renounce or even trade to sign those three guys.

We were the only team not to take a game from Cleveland, we deserve exactly what the history books will say about us. Sugarcoating the issues every year is why we aren't making forward progress.

Perhaps, but above scenarios do make sense. Furthermore that lucky break in game 1 (or whatever you want to call it) gave "rest" of Cavs huge lift of confidence.
We still should/could have won series, but...
Maybe those "alternate" otcomes in games 1,2,3 mean, maybe we do not need complete overhaul?

If i'm LeBron i'm lookin at 2 things and this is just me:

1. Winning
2. Brand/Major market

I'm not going to worry about money because i know i'm going to get paid.

I would team up with Paul George or other superstar player and i would sign with the Knicks.

Imagine what winning in NYC would do to your brand? LeBron is already the most popular athlete in the world( i know ppl will argue Ronaldo but whatever) winning in NYC would put him in a completely different level.

That's where i would go.

I love Kawhi, but I have this deja vu feeling. The talks about his uncle remind me too much of the way Vince was with his mom. Rational thought goes out the window.

I'm afraid of what he could be like now. He was always a well rounded, two way, high IQ, high work ethic player. He could be something completely different with someone completely different (albeit someone he trusts) guiding him.

We haven't really seen him play since when Zaza stuck his foot out. Since then a lot has changed behind the scene with him. That's a lot of unknown to mortgage the farm for.

Personally the only two players I wouldn't want to see in any trade are OG and Siakam. Those two have the most growth potential. Everyone else is moveable for the right price. If we were talking about two years ago Kawhi, I wouldn't hesitate to put anyone in a trade for him. That being said if we were talking about two years ago Kawhi, I think there is no way the spurs would trade him.

ESPN did a ranking of top players under 25... Ball and Ingram ranked 16/17, OG did not make a ballot.

Ball and Ingram are 21/33. OG is not listed, again because he is not viewed as a superior prospect by most objective observers.

No he's not lol. It's not even close. Lonzo Ball averaged 11/7/7 as a ROOKIE. That is VERY good.
