Are we sure Booker is anything better than a great stats, bad team guy? I don't see him dominating and leading the Suns to a championship. I was never that impressed when he basically disgraced himself and got 70 points against the Celtics.

I have to be fair though, that 70-point game was hilarious LMAO.
The 70 points on 70 shot game ?
He did chip in with 2 assists in the 10 point loss though.

Doesn't matter. Scoring 70 points in an NBA game is impressive.

If he was a Raptor, people here would be calling him the next MJ.

They continued to foul the Celtics to get extra possessions and it wasn't to win the game as they continued to force feed Booker. They didn't care about the W at all. Got around 6-10 extra points doing that. They celebrated like they won a championship even though Celtics beat them.

Look, I get the whole stigma of "grest stats, bad team," but... 70 points in a game is not some easy feat.

Booker dropped 70 on a good Celtics team in 2017 that went to the ECF.
Kobe dropped 81 on a Raptors team that finished 27-55.

If we're looking at the results of a single game shallowly, then lets do that with Kobe's.

Both were impressive, regardless of who/what/when.

Booker is a machine from the perimeter, and I'd have to think he'd be an even better scorer/player in a system, alongside talented players that will only elevate his game. Offensively, it would be incredibly scary to have to guard Lowry/Booker/Kawhi -- hypothetically speaking.

I do agree, that the guy is not a superstar. He's not that type of talent, but he's certainly an all-star calibre player that would thrive in a number 2/3 option on a championship team.
Kobe was/is proven at that point in time. I'm not sure I trust Booker to be the PG of a team. I don't think he can lead a team or defend anyone.

At least his base is a good scorer that can spread the floor.

                      Or the next Rudy Gay....

It’s hard for sure to put up 70 ..but if your the only guy taking the shots all game long maybe a little less hard ?

ESPN has 30 for 30...Maybe Booker can be nicknamed ESPN as well for his 70 on 40 performance.

                        1. They would be WRONG.
                        2. Doubtful - Demar has accomplished way more and Raptor fans still dislike his game.

Honestly the way he got 70 was so disgraceful. He doesn't belong on that list of great players who scored 60+. Almost as weird as Terrence Ross getting 50.

If it's a little less hard to score 70 in a game if you're the only one taking all the shots then Iverson and Jordan and Kobe and T-Mac etc would have a bunch of 70 points game in their resume.

Of the players that I mentioned, only 1 has scored more than 70 in a game and he only did it once.

This is mostly what I'm getting at in regards to Booker -- he'd be an even more effective scorer than DeRozan, considering he can consistently spread the floor.

At this point, I would rather Booker > Danny Green. While Green is a better defender, his %'s have dipped and is aging. Anyways, this is all hypothetically speaking. He'd be a problem if he were a second or third option on a contending team.

God, I nearly forgot about that. As weird as it was, man was just lit from outside.
