*If* Lebron stays put and the Lakers miss out on Kawhi when he is initially traded, there might some potential cap management benefits for next year's free agency in regards to sending salary out, although they might be negated somewhat by Kawhi's cap hold. We might be forced to take Deng's contract back in a flip like this, which would be unfortunate even with the right sweetener, but would in some circumstances be preferable to losing him for nothing. Depending how the other offseason moves go, for that matter, the Lakers may be OK with picking Kawhi up mid-season for the sake of a better draft position.

I like the chemistry Pascal had with center Thomas Bryant. If Pascal finds that chemistry with JV by drawing some of the defenders his way and making the pass, he will get more minutes at the PF spot and if can nail that open shot with more consistency then it will be his starting job. The one thing that is still a glaring weakness in Siakam from this short pickup game was being pushed around in the post.

Other notes: Nice to see Baron Davis still on the court and making those pretty shots.

Derrik Martin looks like someone's dad.

I like the ref/coach at the end mentoring the UCLA players with old school tough love approach.

This will start a mini domino. LAC will have to ship Jordan now. Washington will need another big to replace Gortat probably. Not sure why Rivers, they are already stacked at the wing with Beal/Oubre/Porter.
