Fear .. Sex... and Money. Yes Money.
So lets talk money. This summer in the NBA there isn't any. Yes there are a couple of teams with cap space but not many. The hangover from the spending binge from the cap spike is still throbbing away.
Well there is money for Lebron in LA you say. Yes there is. However if the chatter from Lebron over the year about "winning" is to be taken seriously and he is now all about winning championships lets peel back the scenarios a bit.
In order to win now in LA he is going to need a supporting cast. Currently in LA are Brandan Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo Ball. Young players with promise. Say what you want about JR Smith and Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love but if your showing up to the streetfight that is the playoffs these guys are a far better bet right now than the crew in LA that seem to spend their spare time putting out rap riffs dissing each other rather than working on their collective games. Lebron already has 3 kids. Odds are that he is unlikely to go there alone and have the patience to deal with Kuzma and Ball (and Lavar as a byproduct) as they figuratively and literally grow up and eye the prize thats an NBA championship.
But he won't have to go it alone !! Paul George will get there and save the day donning his Robin costume. Paul George !!! Well kinda sorta maybe. Are Paul and Lebron enough to take out either the Rockets, the Warriors and possibly the Jazz next year ? Like the world cup LA looks to be on the wrong side of the draw even if Paul George signs on with Magic. Paul by the way... who by all accounts is seriously thinking that he wants to take another run at it with OKC isn't a slam dunk to drink sight unseen the LA Koolaid Magic and the MSM media are doling out in cheap solo cups and wait for Lebrons coronation. So Paul is a wild card at best and Lebron hates risks. Its a very serious consideration he has to take into account that Paul takes another run at it with Russel and Carmello.
If PG stays in OKC then for sure its Kawahi . Yes Kawhai will go to LA He has said as much. Thats the ticket !!. Well this is where the money comes in. The Spurs who don't exist to make LA's dreams come true will rightfully demand Ingram and Kuzama, Hart and draft picks. No Lonzo ? Who wants that mistake. That kinda depletes who actually plays when Lebron and Kawhii come off the court. Factor in that Leonard is under contract for another year and the Spurs are looking to extract max value for him. Is it conceivable that the Spurs wait beyond the Lebron window to get it. Of course it does.
So if both Paul George and Kawahi Leonard aren't in LA does Lebron join Team Daycare ? Likely not.
Houston then... well... that means Morey has to move out a lot of the players that make Houston a threat to upend the Warriors. No Capella. No Ariza. No Gordon. Again another top heavy team with little in the way of a supporting cast.
Philly then !!! Its in the East. Its close to Akron. Well Lebron will want the ball to facilitate the offense. Isn't that what Ben Simmons does. Well move that ungrateful fuck to the wing to take catch and shoot jumpers from the arc. Thats what the options are if Lebron has the ball and Ben doesn't. Except Simmons isn't a three point shooter at all. He doesn't have much of shot at all actually. Could it work. On a blackboard for sure. On the court. Not so much.
Well screw LA .. Philly and Houston then...He'll go to ... Well thats the no money part again. No one has any. So for all the MSM NBA media bluster.. the cold hard light of day might say that Lebron is better than 70% to say at home in Cleveland. And Mrs. Lebron with whom Mr. Lebron has been with for 15 years (and who he takes counsel from pillow to pillow far more than you might think) might be OK with staying in her childhood home with her growing kids and their friends and her family.
Just a thought.Last edited by Demographic Shift; Fri Jun 29, 2018, 01:00 PM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Sacramento will not tender a qualifying offer to forward Bruno Caboclo, league sources tell ESPN. Both sides agreed to move on. He’s now a free agent.
