Yes, people are getting ahead of themselves here. Philly is going to outclass the Raptors as well if Ben Simmons improves his shooting. The Raptors have done nothing to improve...
Will really depend heavily on how much our young players develop. Another year for Yak, Delon, OG, & Freddy. Demar has surprised with someone new every year. Will highly depend on internal development as always.

LeBron is in a completely different level of athlete than those 2 though. I think Jordan was 35-36 when he retired in 98. And i think he led the league in scoring that year, he was still an elite elite player back then. If Jordan can still be an elite player at 36 why can't LeBron?
Yes, LeBron is an outlier. People need to forget about other people at his age, there is no comparable. Let's say he lost a step, big deal. He's still faster than most his size and stronger. He could move to PF or center and change his game a little and continue on killing it.

      • Hot-ish take:

LeBron going West is bad for the Raptors long-term. It means they'll run it back, which means we won't see if the younger guys can take bigger roles before the time hits for them to get their extensions, which makes the picture foggier past the current core.

The Raptors were better off making a real move this summer if the goal is a title, and LeBron going West makes that less likely.

And what about the Celtics young guys? Are they not going to improve? They sure do have a lot of them and some of there look like they're on another level than the Raptors young guys. Then you look at their star power and to me it looks like no contest. They have a top five PG who elevates his game under pressure. He's already won.

          • We’re undefeated against non Lebron teams in playoffs in the last 3 years. LET ME BELIEVE

            • So now the Lakers have Lebron and they might go after Kawhi, I say we do a quick trade with them now and go for a win win mode.

Toronto out: DeMar DeRozan, Norman Powell
Toronto in: KCP, Brandon Ingram, and Luol Deng

              Toronto Roster
              Lowry
              KCP
              Ingram
              OG
              Val

                • Well no one can claim he's riding coat tails of anyone else, like Durant joining the Warriors; the Lakers are HIS team from the outset even if/when Kawhi joins.

                    Trade filler for Kawhi?
Isn't there rules where you can't sign players and trade them right away?

                    • Pretty obvious, but the fourth year of LeBron's contract is a player option. Thought I put that out there.

Why would the Raptors run it back? Literally their biggest obstacle and nightmare is gone now.

Because the stated goal of Masai isn't "Get to the Finals", it's "Win the Finals". And the biggest obstacle to that was never LeBron - it was the Warriors.

Yep. He's an elite athlete just like Jordan and Kobe.

He needs to avoid serious injuries.

Kobe was 34 when he tore his achilles. He was averaging 27ppg the year he got hurt. Obviously he wasn't the same player aftr that injury but if not for that injury there's no doubt that he would still be playing at an elite level for at least 4-5 more years.
