NBA needs to solve this BS. This is just unfair. And that's a very bad look for the league.
It's actually very fair. They built a winning machine and others want to ride the coatails. Anyone else can do this, there's no rule preventing it, right?

It sucks for us but it's fair.

      • Cousins won't play until about January.. and may not be himself. He could take the entire year to rehab. The Warriors spent the money for the playoffs..

But.. Cousins may hurt their chemistry. They played a lot of ISO ball against the Rockets. Cousins is a beast but when the ball is in his hands its not in KD's or Curry's. And as an opponent I would rather have it in Cousins hands. Plus he doesn't run back on defense and that can hurt. A guy like Capela runs the court like a gazelle.. and he won't keep up.

The Warriors feast in transition.. Cousins will hurt that not help it.

Now the kicker is his ego. Will it allow him to come off the bench even with that team? If Kerr feels like he's hurting the team or he'd be better off the bench he might not like that and sulk.

Just trying to feel optimistic about this. It stings though. NBA needs another lock out to fix this shit.

It's damn hard to replicate though. The cap smoothing is what was needed but the PA kibosh'd it. And there won't be another cap boom like it.

            • The Raptors won 59 games last year and if you added Lebron to that team they still wouldn’t beat Golden State.

              • Cousins should not be allowed to sign with the warriors. This league is stupid fans should boycott the nba. I am not watching next season

You could merge MJ's best team with Lebron's best team and they still may not beat Golden State.

                  • It's not just an all-star team, it's an All NBA team, which is nuts.

Only explanation I can think of is Boogie was getting garbage offers bc of his injury. Well eff everybody, he'll take his year to rehab and win a ring while he's at it, then sign a big multiyear contract next summer.

                    • If any of you out there have ever had the pleasure of having your kids play in the GTHL at the higher skill levels this move is just so GTHL. All the kids want to play for the "best" team in their age group.

I wonder if that Boogie move limits the trade market for a while.... teams in the west have to assess what longer term strategy they need to follow in light of Cousins move. Maybe they all try to tank at once. 11 of the 15 teams looking to maximize their draft position as they let time and money eat away at GSW. Could take a few years.

Teams in the east should still be open for business.

Hope Ujiri has a couple extra batteries for that Blackberry of his.

                      • The worst position to be in the West will be the 8th seed. You don't get a lottery pick and you get steam rolled out of the playoffs.

                        • This is exactly why our strategy of trying to build a winning culture to attract free agents is so ill-conceived. We just can't compete with California, Texas, or Florida.

I mean, we have the taxpayer MLE. We won 59 games. Cousins likes Toronto and was seen wearing a Leafs jersey. And yet another star changes teams while we're on the outside looking in.

Yeah but we can't wait until July/February for him to rehab.. the Warriors can. It's a unique circumstance because of his injury. I don't think he signed because of the weather. He signed so he can get a free ring while he rehabs and heals.

Debateably it proves the opposite point. Boogie just went to Oakland - not LA or New York or wherever - not because Oakland is a destination but because they're winning.
