Makes you wonder if Masai has a unique ability to spot talent, or if most players in the draft (with the right mindset), can simply be turned into good/great players with the proper commitments/training from the team.
    Both.

Dude, Masai has had the 23rd, 9th, 27th, 20th, 46th, 20th and 37th picks the past 4 years. He's hit on 5 of 7. That's insane. And not remotely comparable to the number of top-10 pick misses the 76ers have had over the past half decade.

Remember, guys need to be waived by March 1st, not signed. So if they are targeting someone not in the league (cough Bosh cough) they don't have to sign them right now.

The Vince dream dies (yeah, I know it's basically already dead) if he doesn't get waived in time though.
Thought it was super quiet for final signings with tomorrow being the last day, that clears it all up!

If you cant beat (comfortably) 7th or 8th seed in 1st round, might as well start booking T-times.
yes, but...this wouldn't be your average 7-8 seed. They're a young team getting better as the season goes on and for the first half of the season it seems they won the games that Embiid played at lost the other half where he sat...thus landing in the bottom seeds. With rest between all the games for Embiid, they will be a tough out

Looks like we couldn’t be a player in the buyouts, unless something miraculous happens. I’m surprised we couldn’t sway Ersan, he’s only signing for the minimum according to sources
It's mostly about playing time unless you're OG David west. Guys need to play for that next deal. Don't really blame someone for not wanting to come be 11th or 12th man. Except Vince.

I ain't complaining, just pointing 2014 draft was a bad one and the drafting record of the Raps in the last 3 seasons should be the envy of the league cause no one without a high draft pick but maybe only the Spurs could have done such a good job.

That is true but if you have a half empty cupboard, a draft pick in the 20th pick might be as equally as important not to fuck up. There were like 6 players drafted after Bruno that could have helped the Raptors today.

Besides the jury is still out on Fultz, let him get healthy in the offseason and fix his shot and he might show that he wasn't a bust.

Fucking up a 20th pick comes nowhere close to fucking up #3 or #1.

Or this year, took Tatum instead of Fultz

They've fucked up a lot of drafts
True but they didn't fuck up where it counted: Embiid.

With all due respect to Ben Simmons, they aren't making the playoffs without Embiid.

Raptors have plenty of fuckups as well. 2014 draft still stand in Masai's resume as a bad blemish even though the 3 after that were successful.

    Okafor was a bust.

if they would have drafted Porzingis instead... damn Phily would just be terrifying.
