Hey guys and gals,

We're running a, how should I say, pilot or beta version of our new Raptors Republic app. We haven't made it official as we're still trying to work out some bugs while improving the user interface. So, its not the final version so expect to see more changes over the next while.

Anyhow, please feel free to download. Available on both Android & iPhone. It's absolutely free.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rsrepublic.app

iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-...6946?ls=1&mt=8

If we could ask a favour though. We're welcoming feedback and suggestions on perhaps things you'd like to see. At the end of the day we're doing this for you guys by making everything here easier available for you the user. Please send your feedback (Regardless if its positive or negative) to raptorsrepublic@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance and we hope you guys enjoy the application.

          • Nice find, did ya find it under the 754 articles about Kawhi leaving Toronto, where the Raptors arent even mentioned in the articles, because you know, the #1 team in the NBA isn't worth mentioning.

            fuck my sports life

As basketball fans know, for the last decade the answer to "who is the most underrated player?" has always been Mike Conley. It even got to the point that he was being overrated at being underrated. Lately, there have been a stream of US national press articles coming out on what's percolating north of the border. I thought it would be good to post them here and add some as you find them. These aren't new articles..they've been see elsewhere on this site. Let's see if we can prove them right (before Conley makes an all star team)

If Lowry for Conley happens, this thread and Jclaw, becomes legendary. The thread OP needs to be changed back to the original title.

                      • Pretty nice that ESPN has actually had a guy assigned to the Raptors this year, who you can tell has actually been watching the games when he writes a piece - http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2...e-playing-nice

                        These parts:
Even when playing at their best this season, the Raptors have often looked like two teams, playing one way when Kawhi Leonard is on the court and playing another when he isn't. Adding another pair of creative, offensive players such as Lin and Gasol should help balance those differences and allow the Raptors to keep the ball humming and the offense moving the way their coach prefers.
Regardless, the Raptors need to get their current starting group going. When Toronto got off to its hot start to begin the season, those starters went 14-2 in the 16 games they played together and outscored teams by 16.1 points per 100 possessions in 234 minutes on the court.

Since then, that group is 7-5 in 12 games and is being outscored by 3.3 points per 100 possessions in 245 minutes, including being outscored by four points in 25 minutes Monday. Whether it's fatigue (Toronto has played the most games in the NBA thus far), the injuries or some combination of the two, the Raptors need that to change.

                          • The Ringer on how, among other things, Gasol's passing has and will impact the Raptors. Nurse is going to have to get a lot more cutting into the offence to take advantage.

If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

This is where just comparing JV vs Gasol box scores falls short (even if we include setting great screens). Gasol's got the potential to impact all 4 guys he's on the floor with in a way JV doesn't, but I think really importantly he may be (fingers crossed) a bridge between this slightly awkward Lowry/Leonard dynamic. I don't think we're really seeing much synergy with the starters at all anymore. Hoping Gasol changes that.

Now, I do think JV bridged that gap pretty well, personally, but unfortunately the Raptors didn't seem likely to go to that solution enough anyway. So Marc provides more hope on that front just on the basis that hopefully Nurse sees that Gasol should be an every night starter - which seems a hope that is more likely to come true than a similar hope for JV.
