In history - the quickest way to dethrone a king is to kill him. We need some guys to rough him up a bit.
That doesn't really work on LeBron. We had both Tucker and Ibaka to rough him up last year and that did nothing for us. We need OG and Siakam to play defence like we all envision them to be able to do in a couple years. They are the only players that have the size/quickness combination to stay in front of LeBron.

    • I think the Cavs are concerned with us too. Perkins is a signing that says to me, we need someone bigger in the paint. Toronto could just run us into the ground without him. Perkins will help slightly, but the 3 headed monster of JV Poetl and Bebe I think still is our strongest advantage against the Cavs.

      • We may not have to worry about the Cavs. I love the way that Indiana played today. LBJ played 43 minutes and was hammered hard by Lance Stephenson for several minutes. Keep that up and the Cavs won't make it through the first round, or if they do they will be beat up.

I agree with Stephen A's point. We are for sure the better team overall by a decent margin but sadly that won't ensure a win against Cleveland. As stephen A said, we get tight and we don't play them like we think we can win. Our defence goes to shit, Lebron does as he pleases while everyone watches helplessly and our role players can't hit open shots to save their lives. Oh and let's not get started on the substitutions Casey makes against them. Kyle and Demar normally play good against Cleveland but they need to be great and they normally aren't. I pray this all changes in the playoffs this year but at this point it's all mental. We HAVE to find a way to play defence against that team. It's like we go from top 5 defence to dead last when we play them. We can score against Cleveland no problem, that's not the worry but you can't allow Lebron to go off AND have all their role players hitting wide open three after wide open three. You gotta take away something. If Lebron is scoring 30 AND getting 10 plus assists it's over.
If LBJ goes off BUT JRSmith and the rest of the 3 point gang is held in check I think we can find a way to win. Take away their 3’s and we’ll win. Their defense is porous.

Can we sign Charles Oakley to a 10 day contract?

lol. That tactic actually worked for the Pacers in game 1.

Thats how you beat them. Raptors worry too much about Lebron, put all of the focus on him and the shooters get open. Put OG or Siakam on Lebron, let Lebron do his thing and don't leave the shooters.

This is what I've been saying. If Lebron beats you on his own then so be it, but the amount of wide open 3's we give up every time we play them has to stop or we won't win.

                        • Some interesting comments from coach Lue on Kevin Love:

                          **********
There was also the issue of shot distribution in Game 1. Kevin Love went just 3-for-8 from the field.

"It's not enough," Lue said, adding that he had addressed Love on Monday. "He had small guys on him and he's floating out to 3. He's got to demand the ball in the post. He said he has to be more aggressive. They're trying to be physical with him on his post-ups, but he's seeing that a lot of times before. We've got to do a better job of getting into him because they're playing a hard three quarters, so our guards got to be able to deliver the ball on target and he has to be aggressive when he gets it."

Gotta say I completely disagree but as someone who is cheering against Cleveland I love to see that. Cleveland is at their best offensively when Lebron is firing laser passes to the corner for Love to hit a 3. If they give Love the ball with his back to the basket they are hoping for contested two's and clogging up the paint for Lebron. Maybe instead of putting Serge on Love you put a Delon Wright or a smaller player and dare them to take 2's inside.
Heard a similar thought on the lowe post recently when they said Houston puts Harden on Taj Gibson (during a regular season game) and are completely ok with minny taking 2's.

                          • Stephen Fucking A on why the Cav's lost despite his prediction " Lebron didn't have any help"???? What.... he calls himself an analyst and this is all he can come up with. Give me a break! Has he seen the Cav's this year! Lmfao! Shouldn't he have built this into his predictions. The Trump of Espn... full of more shit than a Christmas goose. "Kevin Durant doesn't want to make an enemy out of me." How can anyone take this clown seriously...
