You had high hopes for Banton. He had a great summer. Also dominates G-League. Has NBA size and athleticism and works hard.

Why couldn’t he develop under Nurse?

I had high hopes, but it's a big jump from G League to NBA and Banton doesn't seem to be able to play at NBA speed. Nurse gave him plenty of opportunities, not much else he can do.

Another diamond in the rough draft pick that didn't end up being a diamond.

Maybe we should just be looking for specialists in the 2nd round instead of that home run swing.

A 3pt specialist would probably be playable in relief of Fred (see Barton). Still hard to find those in the 2nd round though. Lots of great college shooters stink at Nba level.

Yeah, and Banton is too small to post up like Scottie to get to his spots. I think we tried to get another Pascal Siakam in the second round with him. And didn't quite work out unfortunately.

He's still young but not much rope left.

and his prompt response when asked about where Nurse will be coaching next season:

He also finds Nick's media antics weird and how he is acting as his own PR guy. His coaching is meh , no real offense and defense is average.
