Nope, he was in the D-League
From D-League to HC of one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the league. Not bad.

This isn't fair. He first was a D-League head coach in 2007.

My comment may have been misconstrued..... it was more that he's been working his way up the ranks for almost three decades. He has a long track record in the industry. He isn't just some D-League coach that got hired a couple years ago and leaped to a HC role overnight for a really good team.

I’m guessing MLSE saved a ton of money on going with nurse over a retread. 10M over three years. Not too bad. He has two years to prove his worth.

Upgraded at HC for about negative 3.17 million next year. Nice.

More money to pay Van Vleet with!
That is a normal collar. Move on, find a new slant.

Upgraded? That is yet to be determined and not going to be an easy task...he'll be measured in part by how many wins he can get out of this team (if it remains the same). Not an easy accomplishment to top a record breaking season.

Nah, he'll be measured by post-season success, because that's why his predecessor was fired. Raptors finish the regular season as a mid playoff seed and yet get to the ECF, that's a great first season for Nurse.
