Remember, Nick Nurse is Phil Jackson's protege. Phil was seen at a Lakers game a few weeks ago. I think he's scouting them? It wouldn't surprised me if Phil was the one that recommended Nick to Jeannie Buss.

Btw, I didn't know that Kidd got traded to the Bucks. Damn.
Wait, since when is Nick Nurse a Phil Jackson protégé? They never worked together. Nurse went on a 3 day retreat hosted by Phil, that's it. Hardly a protege.

        • Basically it’s whoever Lebron choses… it won’t be anyone with a big name, you don’t want someone to clash like Blatt

If Lebron were smart he'd choose to get the fuk outta that trash-pile of his own creation.

Jesus even the media is compromised. Lebron has more payed off henchmen in powerful jobs than big pharma
There's certainly been thoughts that lebron has close connections to "big pharma" too

                  • Here's another thing with the Lakers. LeBron prbably has 1? maybe 2 more good years left? you can't really build a team around AD because he's always injured. They don't have any good young players. And lastly, they don't have a 1st round pick until 2027. In short, they're fucked.

Yep, the Lakers would be best off dealing everyone for young players and picks and starting over, but they won't do that.

                      • I posted this in the other thread:

The lakers could have had Ty Lue who coached Lebron and they short changed him on the offer, hence he went to the Clippers. Lakers get media hype because they are in LA that is it that is all. They aren't taking Nurse. Also this is a much better basketball situation. I will say it right now. The lakers will not win another title for at least 5 years. They won't even be in the conversation. They have no picks, no assets, bloated salaries. If they want to make a move it would involve seriously considering trading lebron, which they won't do, or AD, which is not a bad idea but they missed their window to maximize his value. They are stuck. There are rumors of Charlotte grabbing westbrook but that makes zero sense because other than off loading hayward... which OK sure that doesn't solve their center issues and Westbrook doesn't really help them. John Wall is probably the only reasonable move they have to make and even that will potentially require them attaching assets because no one wants to help them.

You think? I mean he's not the player he once was and is a can basically retire whenever he wants to pursue other ventures. Does he still have that much pull with the NBA when they know there are other, much younger stars they can build their brand around?

Unfortunately, the league knows he will continue to meddle and collude and tamper through Clutch Sports for years.
He's bad for basketball, this is worse than owning a piece of a team like MJ, worse than Scott Boras determining who goes where.

                                When he retires, sure.

I'd expect it to be as successful as Space Jam 2.
