We can't start Pascal at C. The league isn't that small. Everyone still tends to start a true big, and he will eat us alive on the glass with that lineup. Good perimeter D won't matter if you force bad shots but they can just get their own rebound most of the time.

It would be nice to get Pascal into the starting lineup, but it's pretty much for Ibaka or not happening. Ibaka will probably get the chance to keep his starting spot, and maybe if he is struggling and Pascal shows consistency, they will swap spots at some point.

I do like the idea of going otherwise small, with Wright at SG and OG at PF, but again think Ibaka is a hurdle to that as well. I hope Wright and FVV can continue to get enough minutes to grow with the crazy amount of perimeter players we have now.

Not sure how i feel about OG primarily guarding the PF spot. I think we may waste some of his defensive potential there as he is or can be a beast on wings. In small ball lineups, sure, but not as a starter. But if we went that route, I'd still have green on the bench and probably start delon.

Kawhi has to play the 3 because lets face it we better keep him happy. OG could only start as the 2, which I think will be Danny Green on opening night. I agree I only want OG at the 4 in short spurts, as he's a brilliant perimeter defender. Then again so is Kawhi...and Danny...fuck. lol

OG seems to play better at the 4 IMO. That game 3 vs the Cavs he played a lot at 4. Id like to see OG/Pskills take all the minutes at PF.

He did play a lot at the 4... because he was defending LeBron and they had Love as the only real big - everyone else was a shooter.

I actually agree with this. I also think OG starting at the 3 just makes it easier to get minutes for both Danny Green and CJ Miles. If Jerami Grant and Tatum can start at the 4 so can OG because he's actually bigger and stronger than both of those guys. Serge will be fine as a back up C. Starting C not so much. But hey I really don't mind either way.

Tatum doesn't start at the 4. Horford starts at the 4, and Baynes started almost all games at C.

We shouldn't care too much about finding minutes for veterans. Miles is a specialist. He is a shooter who doesn't really contribute in any other way. If Norm finds any kind of 2-way game again, Miles should not be getting minutes since we now have ample 3pt shooting with Leonard and Green added in.

This is true. I forgot about Baynes. Did they resign him? CJ has a good chemistry with that bench mob though so if we start Kyle, OG, KL, Serge and JV it may end up being Green that doesn't get the minutes. Maybe Dan H can figure out a way where we can start Serge at the four and still get CJ and Danny Green enough minutes to be happy, get a rhythm and help our team.

Lookie what I just posted on another site:

With the roster as it currently stands, and I expect another move or two is coming, here is what I would do:

                      Starters: Lowry-OG-Kawhi-Ibaka-JV
After 4 minutes: Green for Ibaka, OG to PF
                      At 10 minute mark: FVV-DW-CJM-PS-Ibaka
Up until 6 minutes into 2nd, then: Lowry-Green-Kawhi-OG-JV.
                      Repeat in 2nd half.

Final few minutes of the game would depend on closing matchups. Ibaka could sub back in at 4 or 5. FVV probably in for Green.

                      Makes for:
                      Lowry (32), FVV (16)
                      OG (8), Green (20), Wright (16), FVV (4)
                      Kawhi (32), Miles (16)
                      Ibaka (8), OG (24), Siakam (16)
                      JV (32), Ibaka (16)

That's a little off - Siakam probably takes a few minutes of OG's PF time. But otherwise, that's about as even a distribution of wing and guard minutes as I can figure. Odds are with any blowouts factored in the per game averages for the starters go down and the bench goes up, slightly.

Dan is something else man lol. This is great! Why do you think we need a backup C then? It seems if we play it out like this we will not really have space for one without taking minutes from better players.

                          Injury insurance

We’re a JV injury away from being in serious trouble

Even just foul trouble insurance. It would be nice to have an extra body capable of matching up against the bigger and more physical bigs in the league.

I would also add that with all the extra depth we have, a lot of people want Norm and his contract gone. It might make more sense to try and move Miles, though. He's a proven vet, but still a one-dimensional player. He has a smaller/shorter contract so it might be easier to find value.

I’m still not 100% sold on Green’s consistency and would prefer to keep Miles for that reason alone.

We’re clearly trying to contend, I think we should just go the FA route.

Bring back Bebe, then try for a West type player.

Wouldn’t hate a Norm trade for a Dedmon type but idk I feel like Norm has the lowest value he’s ever had and probably ever will have
