And the Ty Lue era ends in Cleveland. Another piece of collateral damage with the exit of Lebron.Lue is a stand up guy and deserves better but with the departure of Lebron it’s midnight in Cleveland and the remaining players have turned into pumpkins.

JR Smith has reverted to the form that he showed with the Knicks and they couldn’t get him out of town fast enough. Kyle Korver now looks his age. George Hill looks like Sacto George Hill not Indy George Hill. Rodney Hood is showing why Utah was more than willing to move on from him...and Kevin Love never quite part of the band even in the winning seasons is unsurprisingly hurt and likely agreeing to a trade out of town. Tristan Thompson is also likely on the trade block.

I hope Lue lands on his feet. This isn’t his doing.

Next stop for the Cavs..the high lottery.
Does anyone leave a franchise in as shitty a state as Lebron does when he's done with them? Use 'em up and throw 'em away.

There really isnt a bar culture in Vancouver, they don't take it as seriously as Toronto and it shows. Although I think The Craft Beer Market is a good place.
Oh I would completely agree. I live just outside Toronto, so venture there quite often. The scene is much better in Toronto, as there is not much else to do outside of it. Van City everyone is saving theirselves for the next day of Skiing, Snowboarding, Biking, Climbing, Kiteboarding etc.

Tristan Thompson feels like a guy we could get with a CJ/Norm/2nd rounder package. Thompson would likely shore up our rebounding for opponents where it would matter, but the big question mark would be whether we could get him integrated enough into our current offense and defense for us to make it worthwhile, given that we would lose some spacing if we played him with the Ibaka/Leonard/Green/Lowry starting lineup.

        • No interest in Thompson. Now, if they are looking to move Korver...

But for what? Not sure what we have that they could want, and we don't need Korver enough to give up anything of real value. Like Miles and a 2nd rounder? Basically just get a more reliable 3 pt specialist?

If you want to shore up our rebounding and play big with that kind of lineup, just play JV more. This is a horrible idea.

Now if we move Ibaka in some kind of deal and want to get someone to play backup C minutes behind JV, maybe Thompson makes sense.

Never know with a rebuilding team like that - maybe they'd want to take a chance on Powell? We shed AAV and term, they cash in their role player for potential.

Yeah, maybe. Powell has looked a bit better this year, though still not really impressive. They might be ok with the contract since they wouldn't be players in free agency any time soon.

Not sure what the market for Korver will be like, either. Won't be teams lining up to cough up assets for him. Bad teams have no real reason to, and it's always trickier for good teams to put together deals since they might not have assets they can afford to shed.

                        • Lebron taking a bit of a long view vs needing vets to compete for immediate championships is a nice change that should help the Lakers avoid long-term disaster with this new team. They might even get a solid draft pick this coming year.

He was very rude to poor J R Smith at the end of Game 1 of finals last year. Bad teammate.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

I don't get this. Lebron is like Mother Teresa in comparison to guys like Kobe & Jordan.

                              • A quick look out west with about 10% of the season done.

In are the Warriors, Nuggets, Blazers. Spurs. Grizz, Jazz, Pelicans and .. are you ready... Da Kings of Comedy !!
On the outside looking in are the Rockets Lakers Thunder, Clips and Timberpups.
Still sucking canal water are the Suns and Mavericks.
So who falls out of the top 8 besides the Kings and the for now surprising Grizz ? Do the pelicans have enough to stay in ?
2 spots for 6 or 7 teams out west which should lead to some great late games and some early season trades or moves which is nice segue to:

Is Luke Walton this seasons David Blatt ?

Does history repeat itself ? A good coach in the wrong place at the wrong time. Expectations were unrealistically high for the Lakers and from my cheap seat they are going to fall short of reality in Lakerville this year with the team as currently constructed. This doesn't look like a playoff team in the West. So does the Assistant GM of the Lakers do the same kinda thing he did in Cleveland and trade young cheap talent in Ingram and Ball for Jimmy Butler much like the Wiggins for Love deal ?

Is OKC a playoff team ? They look horrible offensively. These guys need outside shooting in the worst way. Presti can make a move for Kover for a second rounder and a warmer body if he wants in the next two weeks.

Do the Timberpups press the panic button and trade Jimmy to either of Houston or the Lakers. If they do they are back to where they were two years ago. If they don't can Jimmy get them into the playoffs ?

Is Houston now the 4th or 5th best team out West or lower than that ?

Are the Clips for real ? They dumped LOB city in two years and have rebooted to the point where they look like a young likeable team who has a shot.
