But the best scenario for Raps fans and Chowder haters is the one where the Pacers finish third and then watching the Celtics and Hinkies face off in round 1 is becoming more probable with each passing Indy win.
The Pacers have 22 to go and are up by 2 and 3 in the loss column against Philly and Boston respectively.
If the Pacers go 13 and 9 that puts 53 wins on the board. That’s about 600 ball. Do-able. They could do better and they could do worse.
So if the Pacers hang that up..that means the Celtics have to go 17 and 5 down the stretch to beat them out by a game and the Sixers have to go 16 and 6. That’s .775 and .730 ball.
It’s not at all out of the realm of probability that Philly and Boston face off in the first round.Last edited by Demographic Shift; Sun Feb 24, 2019, 02:26 PM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Indiana has home games against:
Minnesota, Orlando, Chicago, New York, OKC, Denver, Orlando, Detroit, Boston, Brooklyn
They're on the road against:
Detroit, Dallas, Milwaukee, Philly, Denver, Portland, Clippers, Golden State, OKC, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta
The Pacers have a REALLY tough schedule the last two weeks of March

The thing is Indiana unfortunately has a brutal March ahead of them:
@ MIL
@ PHI
vs NYK (the only "guaranteed" W here)
vs OKC
@ DEN
@ POR
@ LAC (second night of a b2b)
@ GSW
vs DEN
@ OKC
@ BOS
vs ORL (second night of a b2b)
Without Oladipo they could conceivably actually lose all these games (other than the NY one). I think they'll put up a good fight, they're a good team, but realistically they'll be very lucky to go .500 over this stretch.
So I think it'll be very difficult for them to hang on to 3rd, but April gets easier for them (last 5 games of the season), and if Boston & Philly continue to lose they have a shot.

Look at the scenario in a shorter term...
This week Indy gets Detroit, Dallas, Minny and Orlando...rose coloured glasses they go 3 and 1 ...better odds 2 and 2.
Philly sans Embiid gets New Orleans, OKC and GSW....1 and 2 ?
Boston gets the Raps, Portland on a B2B and The Whiz....1 and 2..or 2 and 1...
If Indy can get the hat trick this week and both Boston and Philly stumble.....It gets exponentially harder to make up 3 or 4 games in the loss colum with 18 to play...
Big week to see how this plays out. There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Raps are going to finish 1 or 2.. more likely 2 ... so anyone in the 7 and 8 slot of Orlando or Pistons or Charlotte or Miami... the raps will take in round 1.....Last edited by Demographic Shift; Mon Feb 25, 2019, 10:04 AM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Bucks are 2.5 games ahead of us with them getting the tiebreaker as well.
They are currently 46-14 with 22 games left
Raps are 44-17 with 21 games left
Even we go 18-3 the rest of the way, they would only need to end their season with 16 wins (16-6) to take the no.1 spot because of the tie breaker.
I just hope that Indiana will stay put at the no.3 spot so Phil and Boston can dog it out in the 1st round and eventually Bucks and whoever wins the Sixers and Celts in the 2nd round.
However if we ever get past the Pacers, then having to win the series against the Bucks to get the ECF title without HCA will probably come down to COACHING.
Thus, a Coach Bud duel vs. Nick Nurse is a depressing sight.
Lets just hope that either Boston or the Sixers will manhandle Giannis and his amigos of three point shooters.
HCA is always a premium but load management I guess is more valuable. I hope the ROI is worth it.
