I'd put PG in over Davis. PG is playing like a MVP candidate on a top team. AD isn't in either of those conversations
AD is kind of like this generation’s Kevin Garnett. He’s getting penalized because Dell Demps is such a crappy GM.

Bring him to the Raptors to form the next KG/Pierce/Allen with Kawhi and Pascal

        • It's hard to build around a PF/C in the league. Raptors couldn't do it around Bosh. Minny couldn't really do it around KG. LAC with Griffin.

You need a dominant wing/guard to be successful. Or have the dominant big be part of a big 3.

It took forever for Dirk to win a title and he had to have a team of great players like Kidd and the Matrix (in his prime).

Tim is probably the only exception in the last 25 years that didn't have a dominant wing/guard.. He had Pops though (and Parker/Ginobili in their primes weren't too shabby).

It didnt used to be that. Barkley, shaq, Hakeem, malone, Duncan, ewing, Kemp, b Wallace, howard in Orlando, Dirk...plenty of guys in the last couple generation had their own (elite) team built around them. Obviously as we all know the game has changed and other than embiid theres not too many successful examples anymore. Not even anthony Davis can find team success

I guess it depends on what you mean by successful. If we go by simply just getting into the playoffs.. yeah I agree. But if we're talking championship.. than most of those guys had dominant guards/wings. Shaq had Wade and Kobe. Hakeem had Maxwell/Cassell the one year and Clyde the next. Malone/Barkley never won the chip but they had Stockton and Majerle/KJ (who by the way is extremely under rated for some reason - KJ was awesome).

Bad management has more to do with anything. I mean in Bosh's case we could have tried to keep Carter.. or at worse not pick Bargnani and go for someone like LMA or even someone like Roy or Gay.

Davis has Holiday who is a good player.. but no all-star (especially out west). Give him an actual all-star wing and I bet he'd look a lot better.

              • I agree somewhat, but they have a solid roster. Randle is a beast hwving a breakout year, Moore is shooting the ball extremely well, holiday is having a career year amd plus you got a solid stretch 4 in Mirotic. That team should be in the playoffs. It lacks depth and...leadership. Davis, like kawhi, isn't a natural leader. They need guys like an LBJ or Duncan or even a lesser player that can lead the team emotionally and competitively. I was hoping Lowry would be that guy for the Raps like he has in the past. However, he seems to have deferred to kawhi in many ways as he is the better player. But that shouldnt be necessary, and both the organization and lowry are walking on eggshells with kawhi hoping they dont offend him in some way so that he might stay. Kyle's gotta take the reins of this team and start driving again.

Excellent. Pelicans can sell that to their fan base.

                              No, you can be both.

Cool that OG made it, pretty unexpected given he missed a lot of time and hasn't played too well. Wonder how much his play last year factored in.
