than OG + Norm + FVV. Which could work but our backup pg will be Wright.
Then you make the Wiz put Satoransky in the deal and take back Miles to balance salaries. Satoransky is a nice utility player who can run the point, shoot a bit and guard 3 positions.

    OG/Norm/FVV/Miles out
    Beal/Satoransky in

      • Maybe let's let our 2nd and 4th or 5th best player get healthy first. Like in the next week or 2 they both will be back. And then calm the hell down

        • Powell, FVV and OG is not quite enough salary to match Beal (shy by a few hundred k).

We don't really have much in way of picks to send either...

          • I would have rather had Butler.. but for Beal, best package I can put together would be:

Beal+Howard for JV, OG, Norm + 2021 pick
            http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ybr3nx6r

Howard for JV makes me want to puke a bit but we'd have to include a big and we'd have to get one back. Mahinmi makes too much otherwise I'd include him.

You keep Serge so you can play "small". Howard can be used against the bigger center's in the league. And if he doesn't work out you waive him (he's got a PO for next year at $5.6M which we'd have to eat, but c'est la vie).

JV is also a decent talent that helps beat other Beal type offers.. and avoids having to give up an extra pick. Norm is cap ballast. OG is our prospect we give up.

Ideally I'd keep JV, avoid Howard and send them Fred instead. And see if they'd be okay with a 3 for 1 deal with the 2021 pick. Don't think they'd go for that though. They'd probably want the 2023 pick too.

Of course, the Raps can't move both Siakam and Ibaka. You'd have nothing up front. Raps are super-thin across the front line as is.

The vast majority of this team's woes right now are because Lowry is out and they are off balance without him. Ibaka especially, but Green as well, and then you miss Lowry as a scoring threat (teams are prepared to let FVV do what he can). Gutting the team for Beal is silly.
Depends on what the deal is, though. FVV's salary looks like something you want to get rid of. Same with Norm, but he's playing a lot better, so you might want to sell high. OG has potential, but you have to give something to get and he'll never be even mini-Kawhi, unless his handles improve exponentially.

Not saying the Wiz would even consider this deal, but if you can get Beal/Sato for OG/FVV/Norm/CJ, that's a massive win. More like addition by subtraction, rather than 'gutting'. It's the draft picks that you'd be more concerned about.

Exactly. Except maybe for Green. The only things that were consistent was an eeeeasy 26-30 points a night from JV+Serge and 2-3 easy transition buckets from Lowry to Pascal. That gave us a nice cushion every single night and propped up the offense, regardless of the 3P%.

Well, we were hitting them at a league average clip, and getting much more efficient scoring inside by Serge and JV. The 3 isn't the be all end all. We were getting 6 more assists, 3 more rebounds, 2 more steals...these things all matter

The Toronto Raptors were not the best team in the league because of the 3 point shot for the first 25 games. We were the best team in the league because of finding the BEST shots, and having a top 10 defense. The latter has halted, significantly.

Because the team really hasn’t been healthy all season. Norm got injured, FVV missed games, Ibaka missed games, Kawhi missed games, Pascal missed games and now JV and Lowry are out.

Green has been fairly consistent all season. Pascal shot well in December, FVV got hot for a bit, Lowry’s shot fell off a cliff and came back before he got injured.

Its tough to gain chemistry and get in a rhythm when players are missing so many games.

Ibaka + Pascal Siakam + Draft Pick. Let's go
Ibaka + OG + Draft Pick + any/all of CJ, Norm or Fred lol = we win the East, good shot at the holy grail and Kawhi stays.
Even if he can somehow just pull this off and that's it = Masai Exec of the year.

Even if the Wiz would accept this trade, the picks will be why this deal won't happen

I have a feeling nothing close to what we're discussing will come to fruition and we're all just pissing in the wind

Meaning what? Our picks our too low, or Masai won't give them up?
