I actually don’t think he will definitely pick up the option if Toronto doesn’t go far in the playoffs and Kawhi leaves. If it becomes obvious that TO is rebuilding, I think he’ll forego the guaranteed money to go to a contender next year. He’s made his money already and he seems to value winning.
