  • Hilariously, this could fuck both teams. New York is completely screwed if they don't sign anyone in the summer, and if Porzingis accepts the QO and leaves in 2020, Dallas will be left without two draft picks (assuming they give one to NYK on top of the one to ATL) and with less cap space (THJ contract)

How did they NOT get Dallas 2019 1st?? Dallas will add this years lottery pick to doncic and fresh Porzingis and be a 50 win team in the west next year
Didn’t they trade that to ATL?

Hawks have Dallas' 2019 1st from the Doncic trade, though I'm pretty sure it's somewhat protected

          Twitter politics is cancerous.
Politics bleeds into everything else. It’s all crap. Society would be better without it.

They're going to be a powerhouse in the future. They have two franchise players who are just 23 and 19 years old.

Raptors win 2019 championship and then let our superstars go tan and breathe smog until their lungs and skin are content

It's not a problem. KP can't leave in 2020. He's still on his rookie contract, so the Mavs have the right to match anything offered by other teams. That's why this trade is so next-level incompetent, even for the Knicks. KP is completely under control for the acquiring team for a long, long time. His trade value, in some ways, is much higher than Anthony Davis.

Uhhhhh, doesn't signing the QO make him an unrestricted the following year? So he definitely could leave...

False. If you accept the QO you become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.

Masai & Bobby Webster: 2 playoff runs with AD, instead of only 1 with Kawhi? *high fives all around*

That's what signing the QO is all about. That's in place of the Restricted Free Agency. If he does that, then the following year (2020) he becomes Unrestricted.

Last year bill Simmons wrote a column asking who's the best future unicorn: embiid, Giannis or kristaps. The first 2 are mvp candidates on finals contenders thinking this year and long term.

The 3rd just got dealt to the first bidder in an afternoon for the new Michael carter Williams and the corpse of wes matthews
