How could a guy who would land in the top 1% of the top quartile for motor reflexes possibly put himself in a position to simply fall down and pop his achilles ? You just have to wonder eh ?

By opting for surgery, John Wall hopes to avoid tearing Achilles' tendon

During the week of Jan. 7, possibly next Tuesday, Wall will have a procedure to repair what’s known as “Haglund’s deformity,” a bump in the back of that heel that is covered by the bottom of the Achilles' tendon. Although Wall, 28, has dealt with pain in his left heel for “four to five years,” he only recently learned through discussions with specialists that the deformity could lead to the degeneration of the tendon.

A ruptured Achilles' tendon can be a year-long rehabilitation for NBA players — it led to the career decline of future Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant and has sidelined Golden State Warriors all-star center DeMarcus Cousins for the past 11 months.

Pretty shitty to gloat about this when the guy was trying to avoid this exact scenario.

          • Plz MU get Conley he is the best point guard for this system.

            • Complicating factors in regards to the Raptors making a trade this year:

              * Our most tradeable salary ballast for a trade with major salary attached consists of Ibaka and Valunciunas. We are thin enough that we can't lose one of those two players without getting a serviceable frontcourt player somehow.

              * Our most desirable young prospect, Siakam, is also in our frontcourt, which means even if we get offers we should listen to (which is by no means a certainty), we can't trade him without eventually getting a quality power forward in return. (Yes, I know that Kawhi could play there, but we don't really have an ideal starting SF to replace him.

              * The best possible outcome for teams which aren't already looking at one or two of our specific players to fill their specific needs is for them to pick up a talented player with upside at an affordable price. This means that the trade offers we are receiving, unless a possible trading partner is looking to sell us something they don't want, are likely all lowball offers for Siakam. But Siakim is valuable enough to us that these lowball offers are pretty much a waste of our time.

              * Our depth pieces have a good level of talent overall, but the only player among them who is a specialist, CJ Miles, is only just coming out of a prolong shooting slump which has negated the very thing he specializes in. Accordingly, We are not likely receiving any interest in those depth pieces which we are not drumming up ourselves.

As much as we would like Masai to make a trade when it seems everyone else is getting something done, it's going to take a lot of creativity to make something significant work, if it's even possible at all.

              • Conley - Green - Kawhi - Siakam - Gasol/Ibaka

                Thats a great team.

And yet with every opportunity to do so.... Wall didn't. Bad luck.. maybe. Maybe not.

Love to hear how he fell down....
This smacks of the Mike Palmateer "I was hanging drapes on my off day and fell through my patio door window.." Or the Bule Jays Glenallen hill story about spiders being on him as he ran through a door or something...

Both were reported as ... they fell down at home....first out of the chute....
There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

                    That’s also a great team.

Were both guys recovering from major surgery three weeks prior? That isn't having "every opportunity to do so." The guy was in a walking boot and took it off to take a shower when he slipped, per Wizards beat writers.

But hey if you want to revel in the suffering of others, go right ahead. Whatever floats your boat.

                        • You think any GMs ever call up the Bucks and ask what it would take for Giannis? I like to think the Knicks did with Porzingis and got hung up on.

I think playing with Conley/Gasol would be a lot like playing with Parker/Duncan for Kawhi.
You sure as hell better avoid any situation where Kawhi thinks it's like playing with Parker.....

Its probably more rude to ask the Bucks for Giannis than it is for someone to ask their GM if they can sleep with his wife.
