That's the drawback with the Raptors having too much, so-called depth. The buyout guys want guaranteed PT as a top priority since they're playing for their next contract. Teams like Detroit, Philly, Pacers have obvious spots they can fill.
And yet Cleveland and golden state had no problem with end of bench guys signing the last 4 years..the "ring chasers"

I guess those teams were guaranteed finalists whereas we're in an absolute dogfight

But given the sudden depletion of the roster, you'd think some playing time would be on the table.

Matthews gone, Ellington gone. This feels like freee agency where we all say "this guy who isn't going to come here would be great"
Even worse when it's Philly or the Bucks or GSW who pick them up. Even the Pacers or *Detroit!* are seen as better landing spots since they can guarantee playing time.

Feels like lately playing time is the biggest motivator for these buy out candidates. And I guess I can see that considering GSW is in the league. Hard to win a chip in Toronto or Boston or Philly when that juggernaut is sitting there.

He didn't go to any of East's Big 4 so that's a positive at least

Can scratch Ellington off the list
That sucks. I hate buyout market. Raps rarely get those guys

Robyn Lopez or Marcin Gortat - 3rd big, savvy and reliable when one of the bigs goes down

Markieff Moris - back up PF (risk due to history but heard he’s a good friend of Kyle), has a decent stroke from outside who can stretch the floor. He can be the bad guy for a contender.

Omri Casspi - another scorer (36% career beyond 22 ft)

Wayne Ellington - dead eye shooter, Raptors are desperate to have one

Courtney Lee - another scorer and had played with Marc in the past

Jeremy Lin or Ben Mclemore - both can play the PG or SG position

The Grizz picked up Avery Bradley .. He is making peanuts in NBA terms at around 12M this year.. Next year its a team option with a guarantee for 2M....

Would the Grizz just buy him out this year ? If they did.. he would be an excellent pickup

In the world of the NBA nothing is beyond the scope of credulity.

Mathews already picked up by the Pacers unfortunately
Just remember the ghost of DeAndre Jordan to the Mavs.. then all of sudden not....
It aint over till the contract is signed and the cheque is cashed and cleared in the bank.

One less opening for a while - Malcom Miller gets a 10 day
Do Miller, brown, loyd etc just hang out a mississauga YMCA and wait until masai needs them back for a bit?

    Wes Mathews.....0.380......0.556.......11.4

    Vince Carter........0.383.....0.556........11.4
    Wayne Ellington..0.368.....0.547........11.0
If a players 3pt% is 100% but he only gets 6.5 PPG, how many threes is he likely taking lol
This is where partial stats nowhere near tell a complete picture....

Lin and Ellington would be nice. Gives us 11 really good rotation guys again. And we do need a cheap old big out there somewhere for insurance
