I'm surprised not hear anything about Ariza, Gibson or Powell, all the teams are out of the playoffs currently. The race for 8th is tight in both conferences. Currently I don't see Washington, Minnesota, or Dallas beating anyone in front of them for a playoff spot.

I can understand Powell considering Dallas might want to extend him. However even though he's young, I would think the unicorn will take most of his minutes next year.

Gibson is a savvy vet that will not be utilized properly on a lottery team, and same goes for Ariza. Unfortunately both teams have shown that they might be a little out to lunch on what reality is. Maybe if Boston beats the Wizards tonight he might be bought out after the game.

Meeks contract will be up this weekend (They announced it Feb 20), so he'll probably be available tomorrow for the blazers but not for Sunday in Detroit, unless they extend him. If they don't extend him and don't get anyone else, they will be below roster minimum again

He's shown more than enough to extend him imo unless there's someone better on the horizon that we're unaware of.

Don't know if it's changed with the last couple signings but at one point there all the changes/salary dumps were saving the team something like $12m in tax bill.

It's actually 11:59pm EST on March 1st. And its not really Masai or Bobby that have to do the leg work right now. They can wait until the last day of the regular season to pick someone up. This deadline is for buy out candidates to be eligible for the playoffs.

For example if someone like Trevor Ariza wants to play on a playoff team and negotiates a buy out with Washington.. they have to come to an agreement before 11:59pm tomorrow. Bobby/Masai can't talk to other players or their agents without a team's approval. So they can't really do much until a guy is bought out.

Oops, I was looking at the trade deadline which was also on a Thursday....

It's 3:00 PM today. And like other sports, I assume that has to be faxed into the NBA offices prior to that to be official. So no long lunches today Masai and Bobby!
