Would You Be Upset If Bosh Stayed in Toronto?

After all of the uncertainty surrounding Bosh's future, would you, as a Raps fan, be upset if Bosh stayed in Toronto?

IMO, it is time for a fresh start in Tdot, even if we have a Philly-esque losing season, is it not time to try and build something new and exciting here?

If I read on July 1 that CB has signed a new contract here, I think it would be pretty deflating, and mean another season of "almost made it" hoops in Toronto.

No I wouldn't be upset at all. Big changes are coming regardless now and in the right direction I hope. The board is ok with the team paying luxury tax. Bosh staying would be good.

1. How many years his contract for and

2. If there is any truth to the rumor that his knees are about to go any year now making him a virtual basketball cripple.

This concerns me seeing as how Bosh

2.1. In his 7 years has never played 82 games once and averages less than 70 games a season.

2.2. He seems to break down every year, for whatever the reason after the all-star break. This is the worst time for your highest paid player to wind up in street clothes.

2.3 In watching him play with that brace, right now he has trouble running out on fast breaks in the second half of games

It is just a scary thought that MLSE could be paying him $20 million a year in 3 or 4 years and the guys knees and whatever won't let him play very effectively especially on defense in terms of giving weak side help.

i wouldnt be UPSET if he stayed... but they'd definitely be more fun to watch if he left, and their offense wasnt focused around feeding him the ball anymore... and it became more about their young athletic wings

Truedat, and since we ALL know that Bargs is a far superior player we would be better without CB. Those wings and Bargs worked well together, re-sharing the ball.

resign bosh would be very good but everyone including bosh knows the teams horrible defense for how many years is a result of calderon and bargnani but bargnani isnt getting traded so bosh isnt resigning

The bottom line is that I (we?) want to win games and be entertained. It doesn't matter what Bosh does, it's what the Raptors do. I am a basketball fan first and foremost. I don't care if a player is going to be an allstar or has a decade old nike commercial. I refuse become one of those dilusional fans that puts players before the game. I want my team to win and to be proud that I support them.

Actually, Bosh is consistently injured from All Star Break and through to the playoff run. He usually comes back from injury/illness in March and is sluggish and lethargic..and then the season ends and so do our hopes. It's time to move on people.

I would be bummed if CB decides to stay.

The best chance this franchise has to be successful in the longerterm is to move away from having a PF as our go-to guy.

This team would be best served with defensive specialists at the 4 and 5 IMO.

Plus, I cannot help but think the stank of failure will never be more than a 3-game losing streak away if CB returns.

Let's move forward without him.

I am more excited at all the possibilities for change that we have this summer, than I have ever been with this franchise.

So many movable players compared to last year.

We have a #13 pick where a very serviceable player will be available to us.

Plus, by all indictations, BC's looking for for an addional late-round pick.

They have some good young pieces that could contribute to this team over the longer term.

If nothing else changes and Bosh comes back, then yes I'd be upset.

If BC pulls off a few miracles and gets some talented players around him that fit well, I think there's potential for the Raps to be successful (if he stays healthy - and even then I doubt we're talking championship).

I think at this point I'd rather use CB to get those talented pieces and slide Bargnani over to the 4. Stealing a quote form the ESPN Insider piece:

Bargs can give you most of the scoring CB did. That's not the team's problem. If trading CB can get them a big who is a defensive presence and an above average rebounder, the positives of that new PF+C combo will outweigh the negatives of losing CB's production. Granted CB is more a lot more consistent than AB is (when he's healthy). But I believe AB can still improve while CB is at the peak of his talents.

But like I said, if one of our PG's and Turk can get us that same big and a quick PG/SF while keeping Bosh, I wouldn't be too upset.

Sigh... why do we even need to ask this question? The question should be "How Far Would You Go To Keep Bosh In Toronto?" There's a reason he's mentioned in the same category as LeBron and D-Wade: he's a damn good player and teams will go to great lengths to get him. 25-year-old all-star PF's don't grow on trees ya know, we're lucky to have him in the first place.

We already know that. Max money. Six years. Guaranteed.

Any team he would sign with will require a medical exam. If there are issues it's likely going to affect his options. Let's put it this way, no medical staff knows him any better than the Raptors' staff. If they deem him fit, he's fit. All long term contracts have risk. One could argue his style of play and health history makes him a much better candidate for a six year contract than most of the other big money makers on the market this off-season.

That's wrong. He is averaging 73 games per season or in other words, he is active in 89% of all regular season games. That is very good for a player who logs as many minutes as he does. Stats source: Yahoo Sports

Not sure how you can label a player like that when he's active in 89% of all possible games. Players are more likely to sit out games in the second half of the season, Bosh isn't an anomaly.

Not so sure I agree. He's faster on his feet than most players in the league at his position.

This is pure speculation. He started wearing the brace as a precaution and then doctors cleared him to start playing without it and he's chose to keep wearing it because he grew accustomed to it. As soon as you show me the medical report that proves your worries I'm on board with you. Right now, I'll wait until July and see what the doctors say.

Its hard to get sold on CB4. For me, its not about winning championships, its about having a team that can compete, and be exciting to watch night in and night out; which Bosh could help in achieving. If he resigns, Canadians will fall head over heals in love with him (those who dont' already) because he will be viewed as somebody who could of gone to pretty much any team, but chose to stay in Canada which gives us Rap fans a sigh of relief that at least one all star likes our beloved team.

Negative:
On the other hand, If we resign him to a max contract and he goes down, the raps will be in absolute shambles! We could trade him for a couple assets, which wouldn't be as much of risk and could potentially make a more balanced team.

If he stays, we need him and Barg's to get better chemistry. These two guys could be the best 1-2 in the East. I'm for signing him because he's easily the most legit player we can get. Just hope he doesn't pull an Allan Houston.

if the raps had ever won a playoff series with him as the franchise guy.. then MAYBE...

but last time i checked, when the real stars are still working, he's on vacation. consistently.
