What's Sad About Bringing Back Bosh...

is that we're going to have to bring in someone who's better than bosh or equal talent in order to entice him to stay.

like bringing in steve Nash who is clearly better than Bosh to bring back Bosh. It's sad that we have to bring in a better player to get back one of our better players.

bring in Joe Johnson or Gilbert Arenas who are at the same level as Bosh, where as teams liek cleveland and miami have to bring in second tier guys to entice their first tier players, we have to bring in a first tier to entice our second tier.

it's backwards and sort of messed up, because we have to bring in a new #1 guy just to entice our former#1(now #2) to come back. but, we still have to let bosh be the franchise guy almost in order for him to be happy and re-sign.

or am i just thinking wrong?

I think that Bosh is not looking for us to have another guy on his level, he is looking for someone like a J.R. Smith. A guy who is not an elite level guy, but that can come in and score at the wing consistently, something Bosh has never had.

Wow, how many times can you say the (almost) same thing? =P

You are "thinking wrong". Your point is also inconsistent. You alternate several times between having to bring in someone better than Bosh and someone at least as good as Bosh.

Joe Johnson and Gilbert Arenas are not at the same level as Bosh, just as Bosh isn't the same level as Lebron James. If NBA GMs had to rank current NBA players to build their franchise around, Bosh would be definitely be higher than Arenas/Johnson on most if not all GMs' wishlists.

Considering LBJ and Wade are both TOP TIER players, is it that shocking that any players added would likely be lower tier in comparison? Say LBJ says he'll only go to NY or resign with Cleveland if Bosh can be acquired. Is it only right for Bosh to say he'll only go to NY or stay with Toronto if can be acquired? That seems to be the requisite for you to deem the situation fair, and yet, it's completely silly.

It's not even about tiers. Bosh, LBJ, Wade, etc., all want to be on a team with a good shot at the championship. If Toronto can front a similar quality team as the other top contenders with just a , then great, Bosh will likely stay. However, that isn't the case is it? Both the Cavs and the Heat are miles ahead of the Raptors in terms of contending for the championship, if not by overall talent then by the mere fact that each of those teams possess one of the true best players in the league. That is a given, and there is nothing to cry about.

Lastly, if this gives rise to QQ, then how must Cleveland fans feel? There's a decent chance that LBJ might leave the current salary mess in Cleveland for "greener pastures", and if he does, then despite Cleveland having one of the best records in the NBA last season, and despite them having the "home-field" advantage of LBJ being an Akron boy, they still can't get him to re-sign? If anything is messed up, that is.
