When I mentioned AI not counting because he's a potential HoFer, I meant it in the sense that he is a freak talent, the same way as MJ and other greats. I do believe that given enough time, you will find some unnatural talent unexpectedly making a name for himself, so nothing is impossible. But just as Dirk, for instance, started the craze over big men with range, the next bunch of years teams started overrating other similar players with range. Not a single one of them so far has worked out nearly the same way. Had Dirk not been so successful, you would probably see a lot of players like Nikoloz Tskitishvili (5th), Vladimir Radmanović (12th) and Žarko Čabarkapa (17th) picked a good bit later in the draft. Bargnani, though I have no problem with where he was picked, would never have gone #1 but for Dirk's success.
The jury was pretty clear on Iverson, as you can see where he went in that draft, but Bradley is a much different creature. I'm not hating on him at all either. I think it'd be exciting to see if he could pull it off, and if he does, we are that much closer to the "future" of the Raptors. If we were a good team or just picking later in the draft, Bradley might be perfect, but considering all the holes we have (even DeRozan isn't a certainty), I hope each of our draft picks for the next few years all become big parts of a championship contender. We need to make sure we have our future starting lineup before we start worrying about our future bench. We need to be reasonably certain that he can start for us a few years down the road.
