A big no thanks on Ben Gordon. He is pretty much completely useless to us. Not only will he take minutes from Demar/Sonny/Barbosa at the 2, but he's probably even less able to handle the PG duties than Barbosa, has a monster contract, and is overrated.

you're crazy if u think any team is going to take calderon... so to start speculating whether we get rip or prince is crazy... we're lucky if we can trade him for eddie curry...

        That's just plain ridiculous.

He was the Raptors center piece in a deal that almost landed Chandler and Diaw. Since then he's been reduced to not being a sure thing to land Eddie Curry? Did he slip in the shower or something?

          "almost" is the key word...

i think prince would be more of a short term fix because he's already 30 and starting to get injury-prone. he only played 49 games last year. if the raps are going to stick with their run and gun style, might as well get a young athletic wing who can grow with the young gunz. id rather not trade with the pistons coz theyre basically old and with bloated contracts.

if there are really no takers for Jose, id rather stick with him rather than make a trade just for the sake of it.
prince isn't injury prone... hez had ONE injury in his career... thatz not injury prone.

prince has played 6 STRAIGHT seasons of 82 games per season

The Bobcats agreed and then went back on their word. The next step down isn't Eddy Curry.

Be easy. Did you read the thread or did you just see my comment and decided to post? Do you really think Dumars would rather give up an expiring for Calderon or someone who has a longer term contract?
no i think there's no way joe dumars takes calderon...PERIOD

of course i read the whole thread, what do you think ppl open threads and then only read posts by MangoKid ??

well, i mean bobcats were also trying to dump diaw right ? and while calderon is a decent pg, his salary is just way too high... and his contract is just way too long...

hedo was tradable b/c in his career he was consistently putting up around 15 4 n 4...

i agree with benitonicoya's post of possible destinations for jose, and even for teams that need a pg, jose doesnt make sense for them...

jose is in the same boat as elton brand. good player just extremely over paid. now do you think if the 76ers could trade brand for eddie curry they would ?

of course they would and they would be lucky if they could pull that trade off, just like we would be lucky to rid ourselves of jose's $30 million over 3 years contract.

EDIT: the question to ask is if you could just waive this player and get nothing in return but not have his salary count against the cap would you do it?

i think the raptors would waive jose in a heartbeat if they could.

same thing with the wizards and arenas and the 76ers and brand.

all 3 of these teams would be lucky if they could trade their player for eddie curry.

I personally think you're exaggerating the magnitude of Jose's contract. We're not talking Gilbert Arenas here but that's my opinion and we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Many believe the Pistons will ultimately move Prince, who's entering the final year of his contract. A second source said that the team would not trade Prince unless the veteran asked to be dealt, and even if that happened, a trade would probably not happen until closer to the trade deadline next February.

The only three players worth taking off of the Pistons roster are

                          Stuckey
                          Jarebko
                          Monroe

Prince would be good for the Raptors. Low risk.

Not saying I am for or against the Raptors trying to trade for him but T-Mac can be traded starting Dec 15th.

Tracy McGrady has reach agreement on a one year, $1.3 million contract with the Pistons, league sources tell Y! Sports. Story soon on Y

The Raptors will never trade for Prince period.

                                1. He is way too slow to run anymore. He has been playing walk up the court basketball for at least the last five years.
                                2. If people think Bosh held the ball a long time before doing something productive with it they should watch Prince play
                                3. Prince can't effectively guard anyone who weighs over 230-235 pounds
