  • Raptors Interested in Earl Baron

The Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets and New Orleans Hornets have expressed interest in the seven-footer. With other free agent big men such as Erick Dampier and Fabricio Oberto now off of the market, teams looking for frontcourt help are expected to turn their attention to Barron.

This doesn't make sense. If you have a hole in your roof, you can go to Home Depot and patch it up yourself. If there's too many holes, you call a roofer. Getting Baron is a patch job that will never work. So, rather than bitch and complain while offering no solutions, here's some suggestions:

    1. If the team feels that they can be good enough to make the last playoff spot, forget Baron, bring in Okafor using the TPE. BC will find a way to get Johnson and Davis their due minutes. Heck, knowing BC and his tendencies for swinging for the fences, just go for Josh Smith while you're at it (may have to give up our young dudes in return).

    2. If the team is bad enough, they can keep the roster this way until the end and hope to be in the top 3. Bringing in Baron will do absolutely nothing to address the issues of this team. This team lacks heart (except for maybe Reggie).

Ive actually suggested before in one of the threads that Barron might be a good fit with the Raps.
He is a very aggressive rebounder who can score, either post up or putback and has a wide wingspan.
He's not as tough as reggie, but at least he can turn those rebounds into points.

I think he'd be a good fit with the Raps because he clogs the paint, and we all know how Bargs loves playing on the perimeter.

The only downside is he's already 29, so i hope the raps sign him to a 1-2 year deal but nothing more than that.

Career training camp fodder D-league vet who finally got off his ass and posted 11ppg and 11rpg in 33 mins in 7 games with the Knicks last season. That's his career.

        No.

For what? Seriously. He's another jump shooting big man.......smh

Should have signed ex Laker and current Hornet big man DJ Mbenga who was available right up to training camp before NO signed him for the minimum on Oct 13.
