Klieza has an overall positive impact on the team.
What? His PER is 10.1, his OFF/DEF ratings are atrocious and he is a negative in all the wins categories. Leaving aside the advanced metrics, his poor shot selection, constant turnovers and porous defense all negatively impacted this team.

Kleiza is, at best, a rotation guy like he was in Denver. That's it. After this injury, he may not even be that. I'd love to see him come back healthy and productive but that is being way too optimistic at this point.

Kleiza needs to get healthy before any of this matters. Many guys do not make it back from this surgery/injury.

Personally, I want him to come back healthy for his own sake. The money is set for him. Most great professionals who care about their work - when the issue of money is not a factor, like in this situation - want to do their best and work to the best of their potential/ability. I dont' think Kleiza has had that opportunity in DEN (behind Melo) and in TOR (injury). I'd like to see what he is capable in the NBA before talking trade, starter, or bench - but that is just me.

Coaching is needed. You can look at every player on this team and pick out at least one thing he doesn't do that's important to the game. Klieza has an overall positive impact on the team.
I could pick at least 6 things like slaw, but I'm lazy and I think at this point you should realize that he is a liability to the team, not an asset.

Kleiza was playing hurt, when he was healthy (in the preseason) he was A LOT better. It was almost like he was a different player.

When he comes back he'll most likely be coming off the bench, at least till he gets his game legs back.

Nah he is not a starting player, a solid rotational player at most. Plus we need a shot blocking, defensive minded SF a.k.a James Johnson.

I like him because he adds depth of the bench, the can hit the three, and score in a multitude of ways. I would rather see someone with more of a defensive presence start, because that is what the team needs more, but I think Kleiza is a very skilled player and can be very useful. Who knows whether we draft a SF because what this post is basically showing everyone is that with JJ, and Kleiza, perhaps that isnt the position that needs to be addressed the most. We will have to wait and see, but my instinct tells me that BC will pick the best player available at the time, not the best player at a specific position, time will tell.

I don't buy that Kleiza was playing injured all this time, haven't we learned anything from Turkoglu rolodex of excuses?!

Kleiza is a good back up SF in this league but he ain't no starter, as soon as he tried doing too much that's when he became less effective.
When did kleiza blame his busted knees and ankles for his sub-par game? We all saw how he got injured in the preseason game against, Phoenix. He's a starting SF and a great back-up in this league, when healthy. This guy could easily go on a 20-10 run any game, his shooting was poor and he wasn't as explosive as he has been in the past.

He'll be fine, and he's actually a good one on one post defender.

What I'm worried about is Wright, why can't he be a defensive specialist for this team in the future? If the Raptors can get him back cheap I'd go for it. He has one of the best SF bodies, is a great passer with a high b-ball IQ, who's quick and hustles. Just don't ask him to try and hit open jumpers.

I always have this weird feeling when wrights on the floor. I always feel like he's going to do something stupid at any moment. He's also kinda skinny and he needs to get rid of those long socks. If he can build some muscle and defend better i would mind keeping him, but he isn't going to get much minutes with JJ in the mix.

I would say we need a defensive, 3pt shooting SF. Someone who will spread the floor for DD since he needs the spacing.

let JJ work on his shooting over the summer. He'll be raining three's none stop by next season.

Would be nice. I like JJ, long before this trade happened, so am very happy with it overall. At the least he is our bench 3 if we draft well.
