Alexis Ajinca?

Alexis is a free agent at the end of this season and although he has not blown us away with is play I want to know if people think he is worth keeping at the right price.

He has great length and has shown a good face-up game, he is still very young and seems like a good character guy. I our plan is to keep Andrea I think he is redundant as I would prefer to have a banger of a center as the back-up. If Andrea is not in the teams long term plans I think Ajinca would be a nice player off the bench, he can spread the floor and if he develops any type of post game he can be a rotation player for us down the road.

What does everyone think.....real answers would be nice....I know that is hard for some.

Absolutely. I like what I've seen from him when he actually gets minutes, and that says a lot about his preparation and talent. As a prospect goes, he's certainly better than Alabi like Matt said in the other thread.

And of course, he wouldn't be expensive either.

There is no doubt in my mind he should be kept. He is extremely athletic and mobile. He has shown ability to get rebounds in limited minutes and he does have a nice post (*edit*meant face up game, he needs to work on back to basket) up game.

I would love to see him back as a third string C next year. Being only 22 I could see him developing in to a solid back up C in the future.

He's a back-up 5. He's a true 7-footer who's athletic and mobile and still relatively young, so why not keep him around? We're not looking or baking on the guy to be a saviour.

At the right price, why not? Serviceable 7-footers on reasonable contracts always have some trade value. If nothing else, to balance out contracts in multi-player deals.

I think it makes him the 16th man on a 15 man roster. Ajinca seems so much more fluid on the floor than Alabi, given the youth of both I only see room for one of them going forward....and I would like that to be Ajinca.

Do you mean banking? Anyways, I agree with your post. Thankfully we have guys like DD and ED that we can look forward to relying on. Personally, I would give the guy another chance he might blossom into something special. He is still pretty young. I just think he needs to stay down low and not settle for 3's we seriously don't need another Bargnani. If we were to trade Andrea ( I Seriously don't hope he gets traded) Then he can pass for a Dirt Cheap Andrea Bargnani.

Yea I'd keep him on as back-up center for sure. I like what he does defensively in the paint. He's not afraid to give someone a whack and he looks like a tough guy to deal with down there. That's nice to have in a 7'2" frame. The jump shot is solid too.
