I think he would be a great pick up if he was still around for the 56th, he can shoot the ball with great efficiency, 58.9 % inside the 3 point line while scoring 45.9 % from beyond the 3 point line on 4.9 attempts per game(9.4 attempts in overall field goals, scoring 14.5 points)

There's a lot to like in that video. What are the odds of Ross playing SF? How's his rebounding and defence?
Word on the street is that he is a good defender

Ross has a lot of tools to excel as a perimeter defender in the NBA. He’s a lateral speedster with length and athleticism to keep up with his man and bother them on the wing. Bit of a gambler in terms of defensive positioning in that he tries to play off his man when they’re not involved in a play by moving close to the lane to swipe at the ball from drivers or cheat into passing lanes, but in doing so concedes his man as an open jump shooter in the process. Has ability to recover well and contests shots very well with his length and athleticism, but tough to overcome that much space. Active in passing lanes and is instinctive picking them off with his length and speed. Not a great pick and roll defender just yet, as he has some trouble fighting over screens and usually will switch. Bothersome around the basket for his man driving the lane because he can get up and use that length to get a hand on it, but has the ability to make the spectacular track down block as well. Accountable help defender who is sound on rotations. Heads up charge taker who does a great job beating his man to the spot and getting set, showing the willingness to sacrifice his body to create the turnover.

Ross remains largely the same player from a physical perspective this season, possessing great size and athleticism for either wing position, with average length, and has taken some positive steps with his game on both sides of the court.

The defensive end may be the area where Ross has improved most as a sophomore, as he's been much more consistent in applying himself, being a real terror both on and off the ball. Ross' size and athleticism allow him to be a superb defender in isolation, and he's combined those tools with the aggressiveness needed this season. He plays right up into his man and moves his feet well to stay in front, but his excellent recovery speed allows him to frequently extend himself and still get back in time, making him a very disruptive force.

Ross shows similar ability defending his man off the ball, sticking with him all over the floor through screens and taking full advantage of his physical tools. He's a good team defender and really puts in the work on this end of the floor overall, something that coaches will surely find attractive when they start evaluating prospects come pre-draft time.

      • Dion Waiters is tearing up practices apparently. He's a guy I see moving into the back end of the lottery by draft night.

Remember the controversy last year when Kanter bailed on the Raptors interview?

Slightly less meaningless stuff to talk about is fast approaching!

I think that there will likely be a lot of movement on draft boards outside of the top 4-5 prospects in the coming weeks. At pick #8, where the Raptors are most likely to draft, I can see teams being all over the place in terms of their favourite prospects. I wouldn't be surprised to see some trades on draft day as teams move up and down based on how they rank players. Some scouts and GMs will fall in love with someone, and want to move up to make sure that they get him.

Harkless intrigues me more and more

Sounds like a Bryco's type of player.

                  • If I'm not mistaken they televised the combines last year. Will they be doing it again this year? It looks like everyone will be participating. Great opportunity to see potential Raptors picks close up.

                    • Most likely. The combine stuff is pretty boring tho. I like the 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 drills.

                      • LOL, I think I watched the entire combine last year...tend to be a bit basketball starved by that time of year. Plus you get to see how the big names actually measure up physically and athletically.

Seeing the list of confirmed participants for the combine is pretty cool. There are 60 names on the list and majority are guys whose names are familiar. We should be able to get a really good player with our second round pick(s).

                        • It sounds like Machado might creep into the first round. I've heard a few pundits say he's the best PG after Lillard and Marshall.

I wouldn't mind turning our two second rounders into a late first or early second if possible. There's bound to be a good player drop for some silly reason. Machado and those two other KY players are guys I'd jump at.

                          • Hoopsworld has us picking Moe Harkless with the 8th pick in their new mock draft. Is that a stretch? What would y'all say is Harkless' ceiling in this draft?

I personally think its 10 if fell there. I would be fine Moe at that spot. I think eight is a little too high. Than again I'm just a 22 year old university what do I know.

                            • At that point you take who you like and live with it. Harkless reminds me of Paul George a lot. I don't think 8 is too high, personally. If Lamb was off the board i'd be for it.

What point are you talking about 10th pick? I think that you start picking who like in that 10 and on. I do agree about the Paul George comparison. If he can prove he can shoot the ball at the workouts and measure in while he could rise definately. He looks like his going to have a real good wigspan. Higher than 9 that's a little stretch IMO. Even Paul George didn't go higher.

I can see him and Quincy Miller seeing a lot of each other at workouts. I think thiers only room for one of them in the lottery.
