I agree. I think we should put this sidebar to rest... I too have a 9 month old that my wife took with her to the inlaws tonight, to hang out with grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncle. I was up with him for about 4 hours last night as he's teething... I certainly wouldn't appreciate a comment about my parenting skills/responsibilities based on a tongue-and-cheek remark about being happy the ball and chain and little guy were out of the house tonight.
