I also don't see:
Gortat - 15 pts on 60%, 11 rebounds and destroying the league in blocked shots
Duncan - almost playing at his historic levels
Mo Williams - who until last night was playing on par with Jennings
This list is just players who already have have a history of being prominant scorers or league leaders on teams that are good or expected to be good. I'm sure to statisfy everyone Smith would need to make a list of 50 players.
For Lowry to even sniff at an MVP opportunity Toronto needs to be a top 2 team in the conference, and Lowry will need to maintain being the scoring leader on the team and/or league. Unlikely that both or either will happen.

i see the point you're trying to make about the disregard, but let's revisit after 20 games or so.

How disgusting is this? Sekou Smith determines the MVP ladder through the first week of the regular season and not even a mention of Lowry, considering he posted 23pts, 7rebs, 7 asts, 3 stls, 60% FG and 3PTFG.
Complete disregard for players NOT on american teams.
Either way, if he keeps up 20-6-6 all season long, he'll be right there.
