Stein: Raptors looking to sign Pietrius?

Pietrus would have been a good signing a few years ago when the Raps were rumoured to be interested, but at this point I'd rather see Ross get the bulk of the minutes with McGuire playing the back-up role until AA is back healthy. Even some big lineups with a trio of Davis, Jonas, Amir and Bargs would pose match-up problems (would likely have to play some zone D though).

He loves shooting 3's but can't even do it efficiently. Look at his playoff numbers with the Celtics. Absolutely dreadful.

Just give the playing time to Ross who is better than Pietrus (thats how bad he is). This signing makes no sense at all.

He'd have to cut someone with McGuire being most likely.

Stein: Raptors looking to sign Pietrius?
Just saw on hoopshype that the raps may try and sign Pietrius. I think its a great idea with fields out for possibly 2 months. Pietrius can hold the fort down at SF, something we desperately need.
Mod Edit - Source is Stein:
Injury-ravaged Raptors, I'm told, have pondered making fresh run at Mickael Pietrus but, w/15 guaranteed deals, lean toward staying courseTags: None
