  • Forget the Gay stuff

It seems that most teams are ramping up their pursuit of Gay, but the Raptors are reportedly bowing out due to his prohibitive cost.

Doug Smith of The Toronto Star wrote on Monday:

According to a highly-placed source, any chance of the Raptors picking up Rudy Gay in a trade are diminishing rapidly and it’s less and less likely something will happen.

    The reason?

The asking price is far too high.

Will Gay be moved at/before the deadline?
Yes, he's gone No, he'll remain with the team Submit Vote vote to see results

Smith found that the Griz are interested in Jose Calderon’s expiring contract, Terrence Ross and one of the plethora of young big men on the Toronto roster.

While Gay is certainly a great player, he’s not a franchise piece that would suddenly make the Raptors title contenders. For this reason alone, he’s not worth giving up an arm and a leg via trade.

It’ll be interesting to see if Memphis’ price comes down or goes up with the deadline looming closer.
My guess is that they will probably pick Wizards offer. Beal is a good deal.

The Wizards aren't involving Beal in any trade talks

Bu bu bu but he is a fringe allstar with 2 years left on a redic deal. We should totally trade the entire team for him cause he would be our best player for 2 years until he bails.

Take any bleacher report article with a huge grain of salt, then throw it in the garbage. It's like they gave a website to internet forum trolls. Why write longwinded speculative posts with no sources on the foums when you could do the same thing for Bleacher Report?

Well yes, I know what you mean, however they cited Toronto Sun, which is relevant, I was just too lazy to search for the original article.

Memphis is out of their mind. Gay already has good repertoire with their medical staff, he should stay there. No one is going to gut their franchise for a 60 game player.
