NEW YORK -- The NBA, Shelly Sterling and the Sterling Family Trust today resolved their dispute over the ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers. Under the agreement, the Clippers will be sold to Steve Ballmer, pending approval by the NBA Board of Governors, and the NBA will withdraw its pending charge to terminate the Sterlings' ownership of the team.
Because of the binding agreement to sell the team, the NBA termination hearing that had been scheduled for June 3 in New York City has now been cancelled. Mrs. Sterling and the Trust also agreed not to sue the NBA and to indemnify the NBA against lawsuits from others, including from Donald Sterling.Comment

Just goes to show that he's one of the worst human beings in America. He just got $2B from the sale and he wants $1B more? He doesn't have a fucking case! What damages have the NBA caused him? The NBA didn't release the recording. The force of the sale should not even be considered damages. HE'S GETTING $2 FUCKING BILLION FOR IT! The most of the damages he's gotten is the fine and it's only $2.5M. Not to mention that's basically paid off with the charity money UCLA gave back to him. The NBA has a better case against him. Sterling has damaged the NBA's reputations and made the Clippers lose a ton of sponsors. Fuck this guy. I hope he dies soon. NBA will be protected only if there's settlement agreement in place. Sale will go trough, but if there's no separate agreement in place with 'related parties' then NBA could face suit for anti trust law violations.Joey wrote: View PostComment

"Breach of fiduciary duties" HAHA! That's fucking hilarious! I don't think Donald Sterling even understands what that means. If he did, he would realize that it was was him that breached his fiduciary duties towards the NBA and the Clippers not the NBA! The NBA was merely protecting its brand and reputation by banning Sterling and preventing him from doing more harm. Apparently the agreement made was that Shelly Sterling, in the event that Donald Sterling sues, will compensate the NBA and even pay for its defense. So if Sterling DOES sue, he IS in fact, suing his wife, which basically means he'd be suing himself... Neat.
