One of the major strengths of this team is it's depth. It's why the second unit numbers are so good. May as well lean on it a little.
Highly agreed. I feel we still need another key piece, but our depth is what is going to get us far come playoff time.

We won't hear back from him. He dissapears into thin air and reappears when you least expect it. Ten is an enigma. Ten is a legend. Ten for the motherfucking win.

Until then, opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they most often stink

I actually really like what Handsbrough's been bringing to the table lately.
Yeah, it's easy to see how an extra dose of Psycho is a helpful jolt for a slumping team that's been sleepwalking through entire quarters.

I hate this because it's setting us up for the exact same scenario we went through last year with Fields. We're going to need Johnson's defence at some point, and then he's going to be rusty.
In total agreement . In fact you could argue that both LF and JJ should get minutes in the last 16 games so as to be ready for the playoffs.

I don't think there's a playoff standard, down to a man. Off the top of my head, I'd say 8-10 is average.

And once you get deep into the rotation, those guys will often change based on match ups.

In agreement. We lose a lot defensively with GV . GV is good for short offensive bursts but hurts us defensively so much. I would like JJ to get at least 15 minutes per game and LF to get about 5-6 minutes per game . I really think when things get tight in the playoffs we well really need these guys.

Why give Landry any minutes at all? He basically hasn't played in 2 years, and JJ is superior at every single part of basketball short of cutting under the basket. Much rather JJ gets 20 minutes per game. JJ looked phenomenal as a starter, which somehow earned him being glued to the bench.

I get your point. My point is you don't know what will transpire getting into a tough defensive playoff series and having more than one defensive stopper to guard the opponents scorer(s) is prudent. If LF didn't hurt his back last year I honestly think we would have beat BKN. He shut down JJ. Amir could not guard JJ. In fact LF could be more valuable than Amir come playoff time. Even given that LF can't score.

                    • The problem lately, and with the idea if cutting Hansbrough's minutes for JJ, is that JJ helps this team most at the 3. We have two very good PF's, when they each play about half the game, in Amir and PP, and both are actually half decent at protecting inside, especially when paired up with JV. JJ at the wing provides something no one else on the team does - half decent perimeter defense.

But lately JJ has been getting most of his minutes at the 4, so Casey can run out a small ball lineup.

In theory I like JJ at the 4 off the bench.

However, after seeing him defend the 4 in Caseys system and considering how poorly any 4 or 5 is utilized in the offense I would have to agree he needs to go back to the 3 in the current regime.

Its all very sad once you consider that JJ has played like one of the best bench players in the league this season

                          • Can someone honestly tell me if there currently employed as a head coach in the NBA anyone worse than DC? I can only come up with Derek Fisher (NY).

How are you measuring their performance ?

Ability to adjust and adapt not just wins and losses. For example DET releasing Josh Smith was an act of genius.
